Founder OTIS Soft

Real Name is Richard Lockwood.

Graduated with an MSc in Artificial Intelligence back in '97. Self taught in C, C++ and C# (basically anything that starts with 'C' !) along with the usual suspects of HTML, JavaScript, SQL, etc.

Worked for 3 years as a cog in the military industrial complex, writing C4I software (Command & Control) - my code is currently running on the UK & US Naval Fleets, and is deployed with the UK Army wherever they go.

Wanting to spend some time with Windows based systems I moved into insurance software, spending over 10 years as a lead developer working on back office systems for claims software (if you get in a car accident in the UK, South Africa or Canada, it's quite probably my system that they're using when you phone up your agent).

After spending several months on deployment in Canada over the years and enjoying being able to look out the window at blue skies rather than rain clouds most days, I resigned my day job and moved to Toronto where I worked on free (as in beer) projects until my work visa was finalised.

I can now be found in downtown Toronto working on enhancing the world's largest white label ticketing solution, supporting theatres and sports venues around the world (including one a mile from my old house!).

Current pet projects are:
NoDupe (otissoft.co.uk) - a fast duplicate file finder, able to find duplicate music files even if the tags do not match or exist.
myBrickset - Android app for syncing with brickset.com and offline browsing of the entire LEGO back-catalogue (including photos and prices).
