I had a boogie. I had to keep the volume at 1 to stop from blowing the rest of the band away.
I really liked it, but as I left the bands because of all of the "Drama", I sold it. I still play at home, though on a little practice amp.

I played bass/keys in a few 'garbage' cover bands in my 20s/30s. Nowadays, I'm relegated to playing basslines on an acoustic guitar that sits by the breakfast table for a half hour or so each morning. It's my favorite time of the day!...coffee and some good tunes to jam with. This morning was 'Triumph - Allied Forces', yesterday was 'Rush - Hemispheres'.

I never claimed to be able to play them correctly, but I do like a challenge!  The dog doesn't care and the missus is hearing impaired. (and wouldn't know the difference anyway!)
One of my best friends (a gifted guitarist in my last band) used to pop in from time to time to hash through various deep cuts from our favorite artists, mostly Rush and Iron Maiden. He has been incognito for the last 10 years, and that was one of his favs, so it was a personal test to see if I still remembered the important/attainable parts.

Good luck with the audition. I played bass for years and years both full and semi-professionally. I had a bit of break once and decided to get my main guitar restrung and harmonics set and that made a HUGE difference. The thing felt much better and sounded great. I was an idiot to have waited that long but I just never had time. My point is be sure to get some regular attention for your guitars. You will be glad you did.
Incidentally, that guitar was my first major purchase when I get out of school in 1983 and I still have it. It's a coffee table-style bass and weighs half a ton so for that reason I play lighter ones these days. FWIW, it's an Alembic.

Good for you, Christian! A couple of years ago I inherited my Dad's electric Ovation and Guild, both from the late '70s or so. Beautiful pieces and sounding so good! They make a nice addition to my Guild 'Dreadnaught" 12-string!

I'm not sure whether to call Dad's Guild an acoustic, or electric. It's got built-in pickups, but it's got a hollow body about 2" deep, and it sounds great on the small Fender amp I have left. When it dies, I have no idea where to find the tubes for it.
