You need to use the attributes already in place for that!

How did you tried with Global.aspx, can you please put the code of Session_Start() Method.

Take a application level variable.Increase the count by 1 on every session start and Decrease when session ends in Global.asax.

and your session mode in global.asax must be set to InProc otherwise session_end event will not call.....

You can use Application variable to keep the current viewer count. Increase the count in Session_Start event and decrease it when the session ends. ASP.NET is multithreaded so application variables are not thread safe. Make sure you always use a lock around the operations. Something like

Application.Lock();

Application["viewers"] = currentViewerCount + 1;
Application.UnLock();

I have one my website. I want to attach discussion forum to my website. I like this(Code Projects forum) discussion forum, I would like to develop discussion forum for my web site as like this forum. can anyone help me for that.
How can develop forum like this forum?
Which controls we can use for that?
How we can differentiate topic and reply?

Please let me know if anyone have an idea.

For,developing Forum in asp.net, You need a good knowleges of MasterPages, Menu, Sitemap Path, ADo.NET, XML, And all other basic control.
You can add Blog section, QA Section. For that you have to maintain your data using Database or XML.

Database structure is ready for the forum. actually I have develop one discussion forum by using repeater contol in asp.net, but it’s not fulfill. that’s reason behind all this things.

Most of the cool stuff in this forum is done with javascript and was here when the site was asp. There's no ASP.NET controls you 'need', I'd still use a repeater, it gives you more control.

You can do one thing,
Read the value of datagrid row at serverside then register a javascript function which takes the value as a parameter.

You can map your own extensions to IIS and let ASP.NET process all those requests. In IIS6, you can't remove the extensions. If you are using IIS7, extension-less URL-rewriting is possible.

Hi,

Iam trying to open a pdf using acrobat 9 sdk in a asp.net website.ie iam working in a webproject ,in which i need to open a pdf document,and if i a click on a particular postion in the document , i need to get the block coordinates of the particular postion(x,y,width,height).

so i came across this acrobat9 sdk ,but i dont have a clue how to work with this,kindly advice how to proceed,or is there any other way to view and annotate a pdf in my asp.net project.

You are using a wrong tool for this job. ASP.NET can't do this. PDF file is opened in the default PDF reader installed on the client machine. You can't always tell that PDF files will be opened only with acrobat reader.

oh! what i want is the person who open the site to view pdf online in the site. and he can click at particular word or postion to annotate.

so i need a viewer to display the pdf in my site and a possible way to calculate the postion of the click made.

if you know any way of doing this ,plz share it with me

I reiterate. There is no way to do this using ASP.NET. ASP.NET runs on server and user clicks on the PDF file from the client system. How are you expecting ASP.NET can handle this?
