This model is equipped with both a USB and a serial connector. So you can connect a cable to the server and install the APCs own program (Powershute) for handling the shutdown of the server.

Hello again, I alreay install the software of this UPS and connect the UPS with the server via USB port. But I found nothing happend when the power is cut off.

It most probably means that the UPS has been running after the power outtage the evening before until the battery is flat and then shuts off.
It takes a day or so to recharge the battery to have what the UPS is considering to be enough power.
The default setting of Powerchute, if I remember correctly, is to keep on running until there is five minutes of power left and then signal to the server to shut down.
I would change this setting to shutting down the server five minutes after the power outtage.
This way you're going to save a lot of battery life time, lead-acid batteries likes to stay fully charged.
And the server will still be shut down is a nice way, which will keep your databases happy.

God!!! my office power just run from 7am to 7pm. And that time that we need to run our server. I don't know when the battery will be charge that UPS is considering to be enough power. As your expereince do you know how long (nearly exact time) that UPS could be fully charge?

What is that services.exe all about? I have the habit of running Services MMC Snapin by navigating to Start, Run, Services.msc. In some real hurry and sometimes when I forget the .MSC, my Task Manager shows a steep high CPU usage and some weird process services.exe keeps running.
In the most of the cases, the only solution left is to give a kick to the system and allow it to reboot and then it comes back to normalcy.

Services.exe is a part of the Microsoft Windows Operating System and manages the operation of starting and stopping services. This process also deals with the automatic starting of services during the computers boot-up and the stopping of services during shut-down. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.
Although as it points out, some viruses use services.exe as their virus executable to look like the legitimate Windows component.

services.exe implements the Service Control Manager. It also hosts the Event Log and Plug and Play services, on Windows XP.
It could appear to be consuming a lot of CPU if a service or application is logging a lot of data to the event log, or if a service is frequently updating its running status - or crashing and having to be restarted a lot.

Hi,
Can anybody please help me to find out the way to change the password from command prompt.
I have mapped a folder of some other server (lets say a) on my pc (lets say b) with different userid (pqr\myUser ) and password.
Now i want to change the password of this user (pqr\myUser ) from command prompt. This user belongs from different domain (lets say pqr) and computer b (my pc) is in defferent domain (lets say zzz).
i tried NET USER ( c:\>NET USER myUser mynewPWD ) but its not working.
Please can anybody suggest me some command like net user.

The command does work, but you can only change passwords in the current domain (the one the admin is logged in as). It doesn't work on foreign domains, and only an admin can use this command to change passwords.

i logged into the server with domain (pqr), like pqr\myUser, but the pc b (my pc) is not in same domain. It is in different domain.
Can it be possible?

Sorry, but how possibly is cygwin remotely related to the query? The OP wanted to run the entire "Linux OS" from within Windows. So, he is looking for virtualization software. Not Cygwin, which is just an emulator.

cygwin has nothing to do with running a Linux OS within Windows. Do reread the OP's question.

Sorry if this post is in the wrong forum.
Here is my problem.
One of my customer has sent a mail to me and I read that mail using the web-interface of microsoft exchange server. The person who sent that mail recalled it after some time. The recalled messages also were there in the exchange server web interface. When my Outlook client fetched those mails, it deleted the original messasge and the recalled messages from server and are now available neither in server nor in client. Is there a way to see that mail again?
I tried the exchange server logs but only email status was available. Mail body was missing.
