Hi! I have spend few days trying to figure this out but i am hitting a wall.
I have a dynamic gridview. upon selecting a row i am highlighting the entire row and i am maintaining the selection in session when user navigates across different page. thsi gridview is filtered by treeview so every time when user filters this gridview via treeview i need to check that value in session exist in gridview. if it does exist i need to select it otherwise i need to clear the session and also set gridview.selectedindex = 0.
can someone please help.

When user selects the row, you need to do AJAX call and set the unique id for that row in session. You can handle Gridview's RowDataBound event and check the row unique value with the one in session. If it exists, select the row. You can use generic List class to keep your row id's. This class provides a Contains() method which can be used to check the id existence.
Is this you are trying to do ?

You can't delete files/folders from clients system. To delete folder and sub folders use System.IO.Directory.Delete("filePath",true). Second parameter indicates to remove sub directories.

I think I already said it won't work in the clients file system. ASP.NET works on the sever, process the tags and sends HTML back to the browser. Consider buying a beginner level book. You are seriously missing the concepts.

I suggest you buy a book on ASP.NET and read it, you obviously don't understand what it is, and what it does.

Good morning.iam now done with developing my webpage.i want to reduce the size of the webpage.currently it is of 167387 bytes.i want to reduce it.can anyone tell me is it possible ,if yes how to do it.

Convert it to C#, they are similar enough. But, they are not the same. You plainly can't use java code in ASP.NET.

But it's not executed by ASP.NET. It's executed by the JVM installed on clients machine.

Hi all,
i am using asp.net , c# in vs2005.
i am facing problem of slowness of page(becuase heavy event called for data that is i have four to five dropdownlist control and each dropdownlist is filled based on its precedor value and every seletedindex_changed event call datatbase and fetch the data). what i am now trying is to fetch all the in datatable on page load and from these datatable i would like to fetch data depend on the condition. i am not getting good link to perform the same .
please guide me also suggest what i am approaching would inhance speed of flow or not.

We can't help you. We have no idea what data you're loading, what depends on other data, or any other way that we could comment on ways to optimise the load process. We also cannot see the SQL you're using, so we can't comment on how to optimise it. In short, you have given us nothing to help you with.
