I am not using the web.config file in the same root. First web.config will be accessessed by the login and the second web.cofig in a specified folder where the connection is for that specified folder.

I assume it will take only the one in the root. And when you run the application which one did it take ?

Hi
Does anyone know of a control that is a texbox that contains a
dropdownlist.
I need to be able to type into the textbox, if there are any matches
in the contained dropdownlist (matching on starting characters of the
list items) they are displayed in the popped out dropdownlist and the
user can select one. If there are no matches the list won't be
displayed and the control will just capture the users typed text (to
be written to a database).
Does anyone have/know of a control like this that I can use?

Well, why would you use a validator, when you'll know before you render the page that there's no data. What are you trying to do ? A validator runs on input.

can you be a bit elaborate your problem.
OK. I am giving a solution based on my previous problem if it fits ok.
function validateGridViewData()
{
rowCount = document.getElementById("gvProducts").rows.length;
if (rowCount >1)
return true;
return false;
}
And pass this function to the CustomValidator. Let me know does this solve your problem.

I am using a GricView control which performs some operations on teh click of button or on clicking of a link button.
Now I have added an Update Panel but its not working, I mean I have putted the button in Update Panel.
Are some trigger is needed for the gridView?

Since I have some events related to GridView like on the click of that button I am going to fill the Grid i.e. the events are related to the GridView on the button click

I can prefer to u, when u have fill gridview with data ,please write a method for that and call with in the pre_render event.
And remove that button set to scriptmanager as Async mode button .
after that see.

yes i had a separate method say "FillGrid()" which I call at the button_click event...
but on prerender it will fill grid before rendering where does AJAX work?
I do not want to refresh teh page when i click the button and it fills the grid

Take both control,Gridview and Button,in update panel,set Updatemode as conditional.
Do not need to register button so remove this line ...............RegisterAsyncPostBackControl(this.Button1);
OR.
take gridview in update panel and button is out of update panel,set Updatemode as conditional.
set trigger of button click event in update panel.
