Hi all,
Could i change the row of GridView that is used for displaying paging like following :
| <Button> | 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 | 20 |
| ID | NAME |
| 01 | Kate |
| 02 | Jessica |
| 03 | Tom |
| 04 | Han |
It means in paging row, could i add a button or something else?

I have 2 questions in regards to the best practices for creating an "Admin" section of a content management system:
1) For security purposes, should the "Administration" section be an entirely separate web project that simply connects to the same sql server database, or is it safe enough to simply create an additional admin folder in my current web project?
2) What's the best practice for storing admin logins in the database? Should they be stored in their own table or should I store them with the rest of the logins in the "aspnet_users" table and just set them up with a different membership role?
Does anyone know of a tutorial that perhaps explains the best practices in regards to this?

1 - I don't see any issue with making it part of the same project.
2 - I'd expect to have one set of logins, and a system of storing roles against logins, with admin being one role. I'd probably create a base page class that all admin pages derived from, which checked if the user is an admin, and if not, redirected them from the page.

Gridview is probably the wrong control for this. A repeater is your best bet where you want more fine grained control over what is rendered, the downside being that you lose all the stuff built into the gridview.

Then you've got issues. You can perhaps trick the grid view by defining columns that include table elements, but it's going to be nasty, you're opting to declare war on the control, to fight what it wants to display, and make it do something different.

Hi,
I have a login status which directs you to login.aspx when you want to log in.
all login.aspx contains is:
<asp:login id="Login1" runat="server" onauthenticate="Login1_Authenticate">
when i type in the correct username and password it directs back to where i first clicked login.
however login status says i am not logged in.
I guess it is something to do with my roles. When every i create a new user using web administration tool I select a role and this is correctly saved to the database (mysql).

I have the two table ,faculty table and degree table . The faculty table contains firstname,lastname and degree. The degree table contains the degree like BA,BCom,BSC etc.,
The firstname and lastname is bind in corresponding textboxes. All the degree is populated in DropDownlist and the corresponding faculty degree is selected.
For example
First Name : Monisha
LastName : Saravanan
Degree
BA
BCom
BSc
MCA
MBA
Here BSC is selected , when the page is load

Dear Sandeep..
I am having a timer(using javascript) in that .aspx page.So when i press the back button , the timer runs in a reverse manner instead of running in a normal way..In order to prevent this from happening , i need to disable the Back button of my IE.

I tried it.But still when i press the back button,the timer runs in a reverse manner..Is there any way to disable the back button..i mean nothing should happen when it is clicked i.e the focus should be lost..Is there any way to do it in javascript...?

In short, it depends on the agency/group, what they want to do with the site. The most common requirement, and that of highest value, on nearly all real estate sites is the listings database and search facility. They will already have a listings database, on paper, in a spreadsheet, or a proper database. One decision is whether to replicate this to your site, or run a direct link between your database and web servers.
Nice to haves are then just a 'contact us' facility, maybe with real time notifications to the agent mandated to the property a site user is interested in.
To get a lot more serious, you could have a closed part of the site where agents can themselves capture new listings, and work with a work flow engine to help with the process of following a sale through from listing, through offer, to registration.

The company I used to work for created a website for a real estate company. The website took several developers a good few months to develop. So, you should know that you are in for a lot of work.

and based on the input of that text i hav to display the rows of texboxes..
for ex:
if textbox.text=3 then i have to display 3 rows of textboxes which accepts 3 members name, age etc..
