Hi,
We have suppose 10 aspx pages and a business class (containing business logic) and data access class.
The Business class and data access class each have multiple methods which accept more than 7-8 paramaters as input.
Now when we need to call any business class function from any aspx page which in turn will call the data access class for retrieving data, then how should be the structure of the code.
As we know we can define public properties and set property values and then instantiate an object of the class to actually call the method.
Another way is to directly pass the parameter values inline with the method call for all the methods defined in the called class.
Which approach is preferred according to OOP standards and which one to use when ? I am slightly confused regarding the OOP usage in ASP.NET domain.
Pls guide me on this.

HI
Its nice to having different layer in the application. create a object of the class and set all varaibles by public properties and used them in function directly instead of passing them if they are not going to update in that context. If the method is going to used by many times and in different context then it is good to have method as static

u r asking that u want to give a page access to a particular person.So just go too authorization part there u can specify the user name as accept user.

Its very simple drag and drop the site map and edit its file i.e xml file by giving the title , path ..........

this is the error I am getting
LoginView1:Only one <configsections> element allowed per config file and if present must be the first child of the root <configuration> element
I am using the defaut web.config for AJAX site with Master pages and a SQL connection string. I have seen some brief post on AJAX/Master pages having problems, but nothing that seemed to fit my situation. any ideas?

Hi,
I have a asp.net javascript question. I have a datagrid (with 10 rows per page) which has two radio buttons (Accept and Reject) for each row. The users want to add a button (Select All) - which if clicked will toggle the "Accept" Radio button status (All selected or All unselected).
After some analysis, I have figured out that it cannot be done using c# code. All suggestions point to javascript. Specifically - Create a button(html), wire the onclick event to a javascript function. The function will search for (rdoAccept) and toggle the status based on a hidden field setting.
The only problem is I dont know javascript and so far my amateur tries have sucked. If anyone has a alternate idea or a code snippet it would help greatly.
P.s: I cannot use a header template for the select all as the users insist it should be a button.
So help please, I am new to .net, so I am stumped.

Why you want to store the image in the client side ........... ?
If you are stiring the image in the database in binary formate and wants to dislay that image in asp control then i can help you

Hi all, architectural question here. I have a custom web framework I'm
developing that defines its own component hierarchy - all working
quite smoothly.
Now I'm adding data binding to it and have found I can integrate the
data binding from System.Windows.Forms (BindingSource etc) quite
easily and of course all the nice IDE integration & designers come
with it.
What I'm wondering is will there be any issues with referencing
System.Windows.Forms assemblies in an ASP.NET application? it all
works quite nicely on my dev machine but would there be issues with a
real IIS server hosted on a commercial ISP? e.g. missing assemblies or
security issues?
I would *really* like to avoid cloning even a subset of the existing
Winforms database infrastructure.

We are moving from Datagrid to gridview in one of the applications
and the gridview is linked to a datasource with Select Command as below ...
SELECT DriverNo, RegNo, DriverName,projectcode,Convert(datetime,startdate,103) as StartDate, Convert(Datetime,enddate,103) as EndDate, OdoReading, currentdriver FROM DriverDetails where regno=@regno
and Update Command as ...
UPDATE DriverDetails SET DriverName = @drivername, StartDate = @startdate, EndDate = @enddate, OdoReading = @odoreading, projectcode = @projectcode, currentdriver = @currentdriver WHERE (DriverNo = @driverno)
My dates (startdate & enddate) are in the dd/mm/yyyy format(I'm in Australia) and I already have more than 500 records created with date stored in above format.
The gridview populates fine but when I try to update the values I get the following error:
Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type datetime.
The statement has been terminated.
I know it is the date format but don't how to fix it in the update command. if I type the date as
20/01/2006(dd/mm/yyyy) it fails but if I type the date as 01/20/2006(mm/dd/yyyy) it works. But the users want it as dd/mm/yyyy plus it is impossible to change date formats for previous records.
There is no code-behind. I am doing update on UpdateCommand of my datasource so please suggest how to modify the update command to convert dates.

In ASP.NET 2.0, if I have an image loaded into a System.Drawing.Image object... how do I sharpen it?
I tried a convolution filter from Christian Graus on this web site, however it has an unsafe code block that will not run on IIS.
Any ideas? Thanks!
