What is the value you have given for the 'classid' or else 'progid' property in the tag? If you are using this property give the value in the prescribed format xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

What is the control you are referencing using the object tag?

Hi friends,

Here i explain the requirments. If a user login he is activated in current members. If he logout using the logout button, he is deactivated. I did it using the database.

But the problem is if the user straightly closes the Browser window, his name was not deactivated in the database.

Can anyone tell how to solve the problem ??

Work with timeouts. As every user has its own session, you can catch the session-timeout-event. When this event fires you know that the user didn't take an action during the last xx minutes. Deactivate the user in your database according to this event.

It means you're probably not clever enough to be attempting this task. Which part of the clear explanation you were given used terms you're not able to comprehend ?

There is a better way, but it's also more complex, so there's probably no sense in trying to explain it.

Do the following:

1) Open the Global.asax-file of your ASP.NET project
2) Go to the method void Session_End(object sender, EventArgs e) ...
3) Call the method you are using to deactivate the user (if he clicks at the logout-button) within session_end

@Christian Graus: I'm interested in the better way to do this you mentioned. How does it work?

z-index Problem

Hi,
I am using an Update Panel. inside the Update Panel I vahe 5 DropDown List control

for this Update panel i am using an UpdateProgress control of AJAX. In UpdateProgress control I have used div tag with z-index property.
I want that when I run the application and choose any items from any DropDownList, an UpdateProgree should overlap the entire UpdatePanel.

But i am not getting an output.

So, If u have a solution for this, please Help me............

hi,
I am devloping a web application in which i am using gridview with its template field and apply update panel on it. but what happen the validation on gridview is not working properly.and when i remove the update panel its working correctly.
I m unable to find why its happen can any on ehelp me for the same.

I am devloping a web application in which i have an menu from which diffrent pages can be open now what i want is to restrict the user to open the same page from the menu more than once.so how do i restrict.

If the pages are popups, then you can do this using javascript. keep a reference to each open window and focus on it if someone tries to open it when it is already open.

But these pages are not popups these are the master form ,
whats the requirement is that when once the form is open and user agian tries to open it it should not do any thing.

Keep a list of the open pages in a Session object. For each event that would open a page (clicking a link, clicking a button, etc), check the target page versus the session list and see if it exists. Open the page for the user based on that.

The SQLDataSource classes are not suitable for real world programming. If you're doing a professional project, you should not use them.

What you're describing seems to me to be a bug in the classes tho, what have you turned up on google, I'd expect other people would have asked the same question.

Error 4 Guid should contain 32 digits with 4 dashes (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx).

any one can help me?

Wow - you're really stupid, too.

1 - this has nothing to do with ASP.NET, it's a pure HTML question
2 - perhaps you could tell us why you think you've entered a valid GUID, and post your code, so we can explain to you why you're mistaken. The answer is, you need to enter a GUID in the correct format. That's what the error says.

Do not Post SQL Questions here. I hope its the Last time you do this. You need to use a "from" like this

thanks for ur help, yes is it work now but if my tables be in diffrent server it has error i have problem when i have 2 server

and thats error is : Could not find server 'SPSERVER16' in sysservers. Execute sp_addlinkedserver to add the server to sysservers.

i run this:
EXEC sp_addlinkedserver
@server = 'SPSERVER16',
@srvproduct = '',
@provider = 'SQLNCLI',
@datasrc = 'SPSERVER16'
GO

and then run this:

EXEC sp_addlinkedsrvlogin spserver16, FALSE, sa, 1234
and its succses
and then run:

EXEC sp_tables_ex spserver16
GO

and it has this error:

Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.

Why don't you add a link Server manually not from T-SQL, supplies the credentials there , and in your Code you call the name of the Link server. Doing it in T-SQl you might encounter credentials Problem
