i write this code in my sqlserver does anybody know why it doesnt work. it has error in inner join. plz help Sigh | :sigh:

UPDATE [servername1].[WebSite].[dbo].[Table_1] INNER JOIN [servername2].[website1].[dbo].[Table_2] ON Table_1.id = Table_2.id SET Table_1.name1 = [Table_1].[name2]

Do not Post SQL Questions here. I hope its the Last time you do this. You need to use a "from" like this

UPDATE [servername1].[WebSite].[dbo].[Table_1] 
SET Table_1.name1 = [Table_1].[name2]
FROM [servername1].[WebSite].[dbo].[Table_1]
INNER JOIN [servername2].[website1].[dbo].[Table_2]
ON Table_1.id = Table_2.id 
pre>

Check the your Statement from the Bolded and what ever follows

thanks for ur help, yes is it work now but if my tables be in diffrent server it has error i have problem when i have 2 server

and thats error is : Could not find server 'SPSERVER16' in sysservers. Execute sp_addlinkedserver to add the server to sysservers.

i run this:
EXEC sp_addlinkedserver
@server = 'SPSERVER16',
@srvproduct = '',
@provider = 'SQLNCLI',
@datasrc = 'SPSERVER16'
GO

and then run this:

EXEC sp_addlinkedsrvlogin spserver16, FALSE, sa, 1234
and its succses
and then run:

EXEC sp_tables_ex spserver16
GO

and it has this error:

Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.

Why don't you add a link Server manually not from T-SQL, supplies the credentials there , and in your Code you call the name of the Link server. Doing it in T-SQl you might encounter credentials Problem

Talk to your DBA about the Problem , remember again not everyone can create a Link server, sometimes you might Create a link server and not have permissions to access data on the Other side. Your have a permission Issue.

Didnt really find how to do it in Native Report Viewer (MS Control) so far.

therefore, we are looking into third party controls.
So far, the reportViewer in ComponentOne
(Link) looks promising, and it supports SSRS. Also, AJAX is a prerequisite for this, which might be benifitial.

Another one was Telerik which allows you to monitor Client Side Events on server, but the only problem with that is, you have to design reports in their designer only, and thus, no support for ".rdl" files.

i am going to look further for about another week, if i find any solution, would definitely let you know.
