I sent webmaster@codeproject.com a screen shot of the problem.
(I feel like such a jerk even mentioning a single pixel drawing problem )

Got the email, and don't feel like a jerk. If a job's going to be done, do it right.

Hi there
I think a filter to see only unanswered questions on the message board would be nice.

I agree
i come to CP and fine sometimes 100 new messages..And i have to do many (next) to find a message with no reply.

I am trying to modify my article (it's still unedited) and when I am on the second step (the actual modification step), the Article text appears to be empty - nothing at all. I tried few times and it doesn't get better.
The textbox is empty in both design and html view modes.
Can I fix that on my own?

Sounds like a timeout problem. All I can suggest is you just keep trying.

Chris,
I appreciate the level status we have, but I don;t think its granular enough. Currently regardless of how much of a contribution any given user of the site gives, they will all eventually go gold just due to time. Now the difference between gold and platinum is 25 articles, which is no mean feat to achieve.
I think you should have a 3-way ranking system, for example xyz which would be x - number of years registered with the site, y - the number of messages posted (as per standard message counts), z - The numer of articles posted.
This will allow people to be identified by how much of a contribution to the site they give.
So applying the rules to me would put me as 3GG (I think)
So if (when) I turn platinum I will be worth 3GP!

What are you trying to do? Butter Chris up?
Roger Allen wrote:

No, the difference between gold and platinum is 10 articles (25 - 15 = 10). C'mon that is simple algebra.
Aside from that, yes it is difficult to achieve platinum. That is why it is called platinum.

That is great that you can think of that, but how would you write that in a mathematical equation? Oh yea, that's right. I forgot, you have a hard time with algebra....
What I'm trying to say, is that your system should be more math based rather than just "3-way ranking"

Oook. He's been a member here for quite some time. I doubt he's "buttering Chris up".

It's really not good to be arrogant if you aren't certain that what you are saying is correct. You can be get Gold status simply by posting 500 messages and being a member here for one year. That's why Roger is suggesting more granularity. So it could be easily seen, that a member is Gold for article count, or Gold for posting 500 messages and being here for a year.

Not sure if you noticed, but Roger is only 4 articles away from becoming platinum. I'm sure it's difficult, and Roger is nearly there.

Are you just trying to be a confrontational jerk or what? Try to have some respect for the community members here, instead of launching into a tirade that makes you look like you're 15. Oh wait, nevermind.

To be precise, you aren't Eastern Orthodox. They're the ones with the icons. Catholics are into statuary.

Yes!! I was really trying hard to look like a pain in places we won't talk about. Thank you for noticing.
Seriously, I am forming a collection of things that I have been called. That was one of the few I haven't been. I thought his post was one that I could really make myself look like an idiot.
I did notice that he was very close to getting platinum and that he has been a member for almost 4 years. That's kinda why I picked this post.

LOL, my algebra is not quite that bad, let me explain.....
Aaron Eldreth wrote:

But you get 1 level for each 500 messages posted and year of membership. Its possible to get to Gols with 1 message posted and 3 years with NO articles. Thats a difference of 25 articles!
(You really have to consider all the cases)

That could be true, but is a way of ranking.

Also, it's kinda scary when you can't figure out what your ranking would be, when you thought of the ranking system.....

The update routine is a manual process and isn't run everyday. Eventually it'll be run and you'll see your new status.
