Ok, I believe what you are looking for is:
// if your Button.Click event is handled inside the scope of the Main_View partial class,
// then you should be able to reference the tabControl1 object from inside
// the Button.Click event handler
private void btnExitbutton_Click ( object sender, EventArgs e)
{
tabControl1.SelectedTab.Dispose();
}
// if your Button.Click is handled inside the scope of the TabPage class,
// then you will want to use the 'this' keyword to reference the page you are on
private void btnExitbutton ( object sender, EventArgs e )
{
this.Dispose();
}
Let me know if I am misunderstanding you.

I'm sorry, I don't understand the problem that you are trying to describe. Could you please clarify? (i.e. Are you trying to communicate between two forms, two tabpages, or two files of the same class? Is the purpose of the button to dispose of the form, a single tabpage, or all the tabpages?)

It has to do with basic understanding of programming. It also has to do with the math issue you pointed out, but there is a real programing problem here as well: fundamental understanding of the use of variables and following the spec.

All server engines have their own proprietary syntax and functions. The OleDb provider that you used is the Microsoft JET Engine, which is different from the SQL Server engine, and therefore has its own way of parsing the query and compiling it. As you access different databases, realize that there will be slight differences in the syntax of the T-SQL that you use in your queries.

This is not a Load function, it is the event handler for the OnLoad event. It gets called after the form instantiates, but before it displays. It is intended for setting properties and values on your form and its controls before drawing them. See my updated answer for help on what I think you are trying to do.

Ok, just created a sample project, during run-time if you scroll the panel, the PictureBox.Location will already reflect the offset of the AutoScrollPosition. If you are getting a point using one of the Mouse events on the PictureBox, then the offset from the Panel.Location of the point will be:
OffsetFromPanelLocation = PointInPictureBox + PictureBox.Location

I need you to give me a better description of what "it doesn't work" means for me to help. Are you getting an error? Is the resulting point not where you think it should be? You have not assigned any value to totalUnits or totalRefurb after initializing them to 0. You need to assign a value to them from the rows that you read in.
For instance, right now you are running a scalar query that returns the total refurbs for a particular order. If this is the intended value that you are trying to get a rate off of, then it needs to be assigned to totalRefurb before the calculation. Also before the calculation, you need to get the total units from that order and assign to totalUnits.

I would caution against this because when someone tries to click the button and their mouse is not stationary (like when they are clicking quickly), it will try to drag and may even drag far enough to drop and reorder, which could be frustrating to them. This is why there is a requirement to hold ALT key down, so the items know they are explicitly being reordered. <-- My two cents :) As far as getting the functionality, I don't think it will be there innately, but you might look at setting the ALT key programmatically to trick the control. Otherwise, I think you will be left with coding it yourself.

Understood, the point I was making is that he is not drawing from the Control class, but rather from the Form class. The Control.DoubleBuffered is protected virtual, and the Form class implements it as a public property: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.forms.form.aspx
I felt it was relevant because Form class is the level at which the OP is drawing, meaning it is not necessary to create your own control...the DoubleBuffered is already publicly implemented for this class.

Not certain, since I do not use MySql, but you could try using one connection for access and another for insert/update since they are not returning result sets. This would get you down to two connections. I do not know how much other stuff is going on in your program, but in mine I still close the connection, though not dispose, if I am doing anything else between database calls, in case the program throws an exception or something, I do not want to leave my connections orphaned.

Just tested it, even if you assign an Owner to it or wait on the MessageBox response the timer will still march on. (using the System.Windows.Forms.Timer VS 2010). This example is not a reproduction of the OP situation. The OP has the MessageBox.Show() in the timer_Tick() handler. To get a better sense of the issue, move the MessageBox.Show() into the timer_Tick and see if you encounter a problem with the Timer continuing while the MessageBox is displayed.

The error is apparently not obvious, given what we know about your setup. A couple questions to help us identify what is happening (any additional information will be helpful):
1. Does the employee_details table already have rows in it? There is no 'WHERE' clause to specify which employee's details you are trying to update, are you trying to update all rows in the table with the same information?
2. Is it possible you want to 'INSERT' this information, rather than 'UPDATE' it?
3. What version of the MySql client are you using?
4. How is your command setup? What is the CommandType? Are you using ParameterCheck?

Sounds like what you want is to use the MouseDown event to get the starting point of the rectangle. Then use the MouseUp event to get the ending point. The difference between these is the size of the rectangle. You can put it in a number of different events or functions, depending on how you are using it, but to get the feel for it I would start by putting it in the MouseUp.

If you are creating a bitmap, or other image, then setting the Image property, not using the ImageLocation property, then you can store the path to the image file in the PictureBox.Tag property and pass it as a string to the .Save() function.

@Martyn - assuming that John's code snippet is being used relatively unmodified in your code, it looks like the serialPort1 only writes out an 'x' if it is a character in your string. Try the following: serialPort1.Write(c.ToString() + "x");

@RajxC - Each of the array elements in this._dataArray1 are double[] that contain one element. When you say foreach(double number in this._dataArray1[i]) you are telling it to iterate through the double values in the double[] located in the 'i' index of this._dataArray1...there is only one value in that array at that index.
When you use the while loop to assign values from junkarray, you are splitting up the array and creating five new arrays with one element in each. What you can do to mimic the hard coded way is to assign like this: _dataArray1.Add(junkarray) <-- notice I did not specify an index.

From what you've told us, it implies that the designer is having trouble rendering the form. Two possibilities are 1) you made a modification to a control that the designer can't interpret, or 2) it is having trouble updating the controls that are already on it. Try closing the designer page and reopening it to eliminate the second possibility. If that doesn't help, you will probably need to look at the modifications you made to the control.

Process.GetProcessByName() is a static function that will search the currently running process list for a process with the name you pass to it as a parameter. It returns an array of processes, so if that array is .Length == 0 then the process is not running. However, if the .Length > 0 then the process it was looking for is running.

The numbers are just really big integers. They are expressed in exponential notation where:
e means exponent notation, + or - means the direction left or right of the decimal, and the number on the right is the number of zeros.

It is not because it is the last relationship added, it is because it is the one that is contradictory to the other relationships. If you allow for relationships to be dynamically added, then you will need to do a little validation to make sure that if the relationship is nested, then the specified child does not already have another parent in the Relations property.

Still an issue with scope: the particleArray that you are initializing in the constructor is scoped local to the constructor. To initialize the class level array to the proper size, do not include a declaration in the constructor:
public partial class ParticleBoxForm : Form
{
Particle[] particlesArray;
int numParticles = 100;
public ParticleBoxForm()
{
InitializeComponent();
particlesArray = new Particle[numParticles];
}

The FileLoc is still in the tables and can be used for joining, but you do not need to have it returned from every table. The select clause is for identifying which columns you want to receive from the database, the joins tell the database how you want your tables to be related to each other when you're doing the selection.

Regarding: {"You must enter a value in the 'RAW_Transaction_Data.post_tran_cust_id' field."}: Is the 'RAW_Transaction_Data.post_tran_cust_id' field set to allow NULL value? Or, is it set as PrimaryKey? (both situations would require data to be present) This is likely to be related to the {"Syntax error in INSERT INTO statement."} error if the field requires a value and it receives a NULL.

Since it is intermittent, I would agree with Thomas Krojer (comment above) that it could be the format of the data being passed in. I think he is concerned about the format of the data being passed to the datetime field (F5), which makes sense. Can you check your data and see if there is a difference between the data rows that succeed and the ones that fail? Or post a small sample (rows that succeed and rows that do not)?
BTW - You should only post as an answer if it is an answer to the original question, use the Improve Question button or Add Comment to respond to comments. This way, people who may have a solution won't bypass your question thinking it had an answer.

2. Have you tried the selection query with out the insert portion to ensure that you are getting rows returned?
3. Have you stepped through the code to identify where it is problematic? (i.e. connection, retrieving data, inserting data, etc.)
4. Is it safe to assume that 'CreateConnection()' will instantiate 'dbconn' correctly?
5. Is it possible for DBTableName != "RAW_Transaction_Data"? if so, it looks like your code will still pass the incomplete query to be executed.

1.) Whenever you click the button it fires a series of events including the MouseDown. If you double-click the button it will fire the events twice, because it does not inherently support the DoubleClick event. I would check to see if you have more than just the MouseDown event hooked(i.e. MouseClick, Click, or MouseUp). If any of these events are being handled in your code, they will also be called twice when you double-click. If they are being handled, look to see if they call the editToolStripMenuItem_Click event as well.
2.) Search your code for the places that you hook to the event (syntax will look something like: newbutton.MouseDown += new System.EventHandler(newbutton_MouseDown) ) and make sure that it does not register more than one handler to the MouseDown event.
