Well, you could make it valid XML. You could also take note - the code block is not being processed here, it's being presented verbatim. So, whatever you're hoping to do is not working.

Don't double post. This is what you should have asked in the first place, that's why I asked what I did, to get to the core issue. But, everyone can still see that thread.

Well, this is trivial with a gridview, all the stuff you need, is built in. What have you done so far ? Written any code ? Referred to any books ? done any google searches ?

i have to check it on a sample page with 2 text box plus 1 gridview. Code is as :
Partial Class Default2
Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
Private dsSelect As New DataSet
Private Sub CreateGridTable()
dsSelect.Tables.Add("Region")
dsSelect.Tables(0).Columns.Add("RegionID")
dsSelect.Tables(0).Columns.Add("RegionDescription")
End Sub
Protected Sub TextBox2_TextChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles TextBox2.TextChanged
Dim vCount As New Integer
If dsSelect.Tables.Count = 0 Then
CreateGridTable()
Me.GridView1.DataSource = dsSelect.Tables(0)
End If
vCount = dsSelect.Tables(0).Rows.Count
dsSelect.Tables(0).Rows.Add()
dsSelect.Tables(0).Rows(vCount).Item("RegionID") = Me.TextBox1.Text
dsSelect.Tables(0).Rows(vCount).Item("RegionDescription") = Me.TextBox2.Text
Me.GridView1.DataSource = dsSelect.Tables(0)
Me.GridView1.DataBind()
End Sub
End Class
|
|
|
|
|
Your code is illegible because none of your variable names are meaningful. However, reading it, I really can't work out why you expect it to work. dsSelect is a member, and all it contains, is the text you entered. So, your gridview1 will always contain one item - the item you just entered. Seems stupid to me. What do you expect it to do ?

Because as i deploy my simple web application in which i have only one web form and that cs file doesn"t have any code and created an msi (windows installer) and i installed that msi in other system and in that system if access my web application i got an error like...
Exception Details: System.Security.SecurityException: Requested registry access is not allowed
Stack Trace:
[SecurityException: Requested registry access is not allowed.]
System.ThrowHelper.ThrowSecurityException(ExceptionResource resource) +51
Microsoft.Win32.RegistryKey.OpenSubKey(String name, Boolean writable) +7460233

System.Security.Cryptography.MD5CryptoServiceProvider..ctor() +25

Why would an ASP.NET app write to the registry ? Why not use a config file to store your data ?

Hi all,
In my application, i have one requirement that i want to show popup type reminder on particular time which is set by user. This is call center type application in which executive set the reminder to call on particular time and all his reminder message and time are inserted into the database and to show popup, it will fetch the reminder data from the database.
I have one clue to implement it, but performence wise its not good to implement it. So Is there any way to implement it???????????
Thanks in advance...

You can set a timeout in javascript, so you can inject the code to do that, with the appropriate timeout value based on the users timezone ( which you can also find with js, but that's a little tricky, if you know their timezone, that would make it a lot easier ). So, the page you send, can be set with a timer to show that message, without having to refresh or use ajax.

Hi, Thanks for replying...
Yes, You are correct..and now see this...
I make one function in javascript, just for testing
function startTime()
{
var today=new Date()
var h=today.getHours()
var m=today.getMinutes()
var s=today.getSeconds()
t=setTimeout('startTime()',1000)
}
In the above code startTime function call recursively bcs i have to check the datetime from the database which is there in the page. so it will run after every 1 minuite and it will run on every client computer.
so can u think performence wise it is suitable??
And yes one more thing Here JQuery can help me? I want yr suggesion.
Thanks again...

It's called code. You build a data layer to support storing the details of posts, and forums if you want more than one. Then you build the UI that allows you to add and display records.

Hi,
When i try to upload an excel file that has a date column, there is a issue in the system language. That is, when i tried my application in my system which has regional settings (System Language:English-US;Programs that run non-unicode format: English-US)and it was working perfectly. The datas got uploaded.
But when i tried in another machine that has the system settings (System Language:English-UK;Programs that run non-unicode format: English-UK), this threw me an error "Invalid date format in excel".
Help me out.
Thanks in advance.

You mean reusing the DataGridView?
If so yes you can, just call the Clear method before assigning the datasource second time
OR set the datasoruce to null.
Be careful, there is no Undo Button(Ctrl+Z) in life.

Please don't use txtspeak, it makes you look like a moron.
But, given how trivial your question is, and how easy it would be to test if this will work ( or just to put two styled grids on a form and only show the selected one ), perhaps first impressions are correct.
