Hello Everybody,
first of all I'd like to say that I very much like this site. I'm a regular guest of the codeguru site, but find this site much more intuitive to use. The layout is great and I surely will stay your guest.
If you need some help on this site, here you got a volunteer!
But one thing I would like to see: E-Mail notifications for replies on posted messages. I really miss this one!

Thanks for the kind words. Email replies *will* be added - we just need to make a few more tweaks to get everything integrated and then it'll be in place.

Here's a thought - why not publish the code of all the ASPs with which the CodeProject site has been built. For instance the forums' vsforum.asp, and the comments' asp at the bottom of each article etc.

The comments, rating etc are written by Uwe, so it's up to him as to whether he wants the scripts to be published (but I think we can probably convince him 
As to the VSForums - that's all 3rd party stuff (does it show? <g>). Expect new forum look and feel in the coming weeks.

Hi, just wanted to comment that I really like this site. While I can barely (lack of knowledge) understand what most of the code snippets do, it's great to experiment with them. I have found it a good learning tool.
With that said, I would like to see a section for those who are new to Visual C++ and C++. I guess what I'm looking for is more information about how to use example code in a very basic application. Thanks

This appears to be the same system that Microsoft uses on some of their page. There are some problems with this I think - you can rate an article over and over and either cripple it or make it look good. Plus what does a "3" or "2" rating mean - that the code sucks, the text is poorly written (speka da english), that you didn't find it useful, or you hate the person? Perhaps a little breakdown of the rates and a ip addr check... or perhaps requiring a rate to give a blurb (or a comment)...

The ratings system is still in its infancy and we are waiting to see how it goes for a few more weeks before making any changes. There is always a balance between a perfect system and a system that can handle the load. We need to ensure that by increasing the complexity of some of the scripts (ratings, comments) we don't inadvertantly hog resources and slow down general page access.
Still - we're all learning and we'll get there eventually!

Sometimes you read an article and think it is good but dont want to put it in your browser bookmarks because you work at different machines.....
How about a "bookmark" facility (assumes the user has to log in in some way - not an unreasonable request for such a facility)?

A suggestion for the forums and comments... the year is displayed as "00" instead of "2000". I'd suggest changing it to 2000. Just a pet peeve of mine.

It would be nice to sort the forum in the threaded views the way the old CodeGuru did: sort by the date of the most recent message in the thread rather than the oldest.
Keep up the good work. This site is very useful and visually much better (more signal, less noise, easier navigation) than either the old or the new (earthweb) versions of CodeGuru.

ideally the whole code should be in the standard colour coded syntax as in Developer Studio.

A feature that is available another "CodeSomething" website allowed readers/users to post comments that were attached to code postings.
These user comments were very valuable in reporting bugs and providing further enhancements - this feedback is very also useful in deciding if a piece of code is worth downloading in the first place.
Are there plans to include "user feedback" associated with each of the code postings? (I hope so.)
