When you click the [x], you should get (WM_SYSCOMMAND, wParam = SC_CLOSE). You're also getting, courtesy of the framework, WM_COMMAND,IDCANCEL for a dialog box, whereas if you press [enter] you get WM_COMMAND,IDOK.

Dear all,
I am using Visual C to collect data sent through Cypress usb communication every second. I am using the some code like "DeviceIoControl(...,IOCTL_EZUSB_BULK_READ)"...
In my Visual C program, I include a file "ezusbsys.c" written by cypress to simplify my code. This is some of the code in "ezusbsys.c" file:

After acquiring a set of data for 1 second, signal processing & classification takes place. Although I can use Visual C to do all these, it is much more easier to use Matlab to do the signal processing & classification. However, I found out that I could not call Windows API function straight from Matlab. May I know waht should I do?

PNF files (the Precompiled INF files that Windows creates upon installation) are heavily encrypted. Does anyone know how to decrypt them so I can analyse the contents?
Is there a C++ method/function or a decryption executable I can use?

I'm working a fairly simple project. What I need help with is checking the combo box against the .mdb file to get whats in field2 of that specific part. I don't quite know how to even compare the combo box and .mdb file. I can call the file and output the first part of it but thats about it. Thank you for your help and time.

you can query the data from the table
"SELECT FILED2 FROM TABLE_XYZ"
and then look at the value returned in the recordset object. depending on the value , you can set the ComboBox

I am working with owner drawn menus in MFC. I noticed that for some wierd reason, the top level items will not be measured correctly, unless a separator is located somewhere in a menu. Nothing seems to be wrong with my DrawItem or MeasureItem functions. Anyone know if this is a documented bug or not?

Hello everyone, i have a dialog based application. First dialog is a password dialog that captures the password of the user, and according to who the user is, the main dialog calls either an manager dialog or a worker dialog. I am having problems with exchaning data from dialog to dialog. For example, a worker comes in, puts in his password and his prompted with the worker dialog, on the worker dialog, the worker has a button to clock in. After the worker clicks the PUNCH IN or PUNCH OUT button, i will be saving the current time, now i would like to share that time with the main dialog, how can i do that?

Pass a pointer to your main dialog into your worker dialog via the constructor.
You can then call a function in your main dialog (using the pointer) which sets the time variable in the main dialog.

Fairly simple, from ur main dialog class u must be calling the dialog class.use the dialog class object to call the value of the variable...

I want to my program (while running in the background) to send virtual keystrokes, so whatever application is in the foreground will process them. It would be nice if it even worked for programs using DirectInput. Any ideas how this can be done?

Hi, is there a way to know how many files a given folder/drive contains WITHOUT having to "manually" (and slooowly) count them one by one via FindFirstFile() FindNextFile() etc.?
is there like a GetFileCount(LPCSTR path) API function?

No. You'll have to count them using FindFirstFile()/FindNextFile()

The line that contains the error gives this "error C2146: syntax error : missing ';' before identifier 'a'" Can anyone help me try to explain why this is happening becuase when I do what the compiler says it compiles fine. please help.

I'm using a connection string with a driverid of 277 to connect to a dbase database and then I create a table. When I open up the table in VFP 7 the integer column types are somehow converted to NUMERIC and are displayed as doubles or floats. Is this just because I'm opening it in foxpro? I'm specifying 'INTEGER' in my create table statement. the table will eventually have to be viewed from dbase, but I don't have dbase right now and I'm trying to make sure it's being exported right before I go too far with the app. Thanks in advance
