No problem. You have to learn a little YAML to use it, but you can also control everything from anywhere you can log into github.
Also I'm finicky about my workflow, and prefer my IDE handle checkin for me. So for me, not having to run a batch file is a win, because I just go through the check in process, and github picks it up for me, compiles, tests, etc.
Also deploys it.
It's just nice to have everything at a click.

So, I claimed my name on FB few weeks ago to prevent abuse or scamming. Never used it, haven't logged in.

I've found FB to be of great use. It's put me in touch with long lost friends and coworkers and has allowed me to make new and lasting friendships with a few people who share my non-coding interests (music and model car collecting). I don't seem to be bombarded with irrelevant ads, and if I tire of seeing one, I just block it and that and similar ads never reappear. I don't participate in polls so rarely see them on my feed. I also use FB to promote (at no cost) one of my freeware apps.
I don't run the FB or FB Messenger apps and always logout of my FB account when I'm done using it, which is usually a couple of times a day. All in all, I'm very happy with FB.

Well, I don't do FB or TW or such. I did, in a moment of ignorance, sign up for LinkedIn (sp?) many years ago when I joined a developers group. Cancelled my account, but still get emails and invites from them. Have not tried to sign in. I black listed them up on Comodo.

I suspect the problem may be that you have duplicated two different accounts (screenshot[^]). They don't like you doing that, especially as you've added yourself as your own friend.
It may be that someone else has set up a second account in your name. I had similar happen to me; someone setup an account in my name, copied my profile images and others, then started messaging my friends to say they'd had to re-open the account and to please re-friend them. Fortunately I have few gullible  friends and I spotted the issue within a few hours. Easy to contact those who'd fallen for it, and a single abuse report to FB got the fake account closed down within an hour. I was actually very impressed with Facebook's response.
I barely use Facebook socially, but it is invaluable for research purposes and quite good for advertising community events.

I'm not paranoid enough to think FB tracks me, but they would love to hook up my phone number to my profile to see if it matches any other shooping-tracking data they bought.

Facebook (generally) uses "real" names rather than nicknames. It'd be a bit of a bummer if you're called John Smith and you couldn't sign up because there was already a John Smith registered. But running two accounts with the same name is a violation of the Ts+Cs I believe.
Not disputing for one moment what you say, but FB have never asked me for my mobile number. You can opt-in to use 2FA with text messages, but there are other 2FA options.
Community events? You join a local group, and post in that group to advertise whatever real-life meeting or event you want to publicise. I tell people about events on my local heritage railway in about a dozen different groups, covering the main town and a couple of smaller villages along the line, plus in county-wide "what's on" groups, as well as railway-based interest groups and so on. Likewise when researching telegraph marker posts (see my sig) I join local history groups around the country and search for photos of them, or post a link to my site and ask if people know of any, as well as nationwide groups such as industrial archaeology, telecomms groups and so on. Works really well.

You're saying if a Mom does not give a fully global unique name, it is in violation? The EULA is almost never enforced. Do they warn Moms in the UK if there's already a child with that name and that such is a FB violation if registered? If the girlfriend comes and asks me how to call the baby, I'd best suggest a (random?) GUID?
I do like the John Smith example, as a common first name is "Jan" and a common last name is "Smeets" in this country, with one of the more familiar folk-singers being "Jantje Smeets".
I imagine FB denying president Bush senior access to his account, because there's already a president Bush registered.

I mistranslated community there; interest groups sounds more logical. "Local heritage railway" was the next, what IS that? So, yeah, we do have one in this city too, we just call them different.

No, the point is they do allow multiple accounts with the same name: there are two 'Eddy Vluggen's and countless John Smith's. If they didn't allow that they'd just whack on a unique index. What's not permitted is for one person to have two accounts. In your case I guess they're looking at IP addresses / location / browser agent / cookies, plus the two accounts have the same name, and some (many?) of the same friends. My guess is they want your mobile number to dis-ambiguate the two accounts and confirm that maybe it really is just a co-incidence, rather than either a breach of their rules or out-and-out fraud.
My "local" heritage railway (it's not local to me, and I pass several others to get there!) is a privately-owned railway line, restored to largely as it was in the 1950s/1960s, running a mix of steam and diesel trains. It's a hobby for steam enthusiasts, a living museum, a fun day out, an educational resource, and much more. In April we'll become the first such heritage line to run our trains onto the national network main line (another already runs their trains over a minor branch line; we'll be running onto the electrified, double-track mainline from London to the South West.
If you do get going with FB, explore the groups - you'll be surprised by what niche interests are catered for!
