Seriously, is there a worse email client? I wish I was joking. Even without providing any specifics, I'm wondering how many would agree with this blanket statement...
As a software developer, if this is the type of app Microsoft wants to encourage me to write, then they shouldn't be surprised that WinForms is still my target platform of choice.
I realize not every one spends a lot of time "doing email" in 2022, but still, this should be considered a go-to app in their flagship OS. It honestly feels like they're not even trying.

WLM is a work of art in comparison. I had one of my neighbors hooked on it until MS deliberately broke it in some Windows 10 update not too long ago. I'd probably reinstall it myself otherwise.
I mean, I have the full-blown Outlook that I keep to archive my email, but on my primary desktop, I just want something that's ridiculously lightweight and quick and can notify me when something new has arrived, view it, and then let me decide whether to leave it there (to be archived later in Outlook) or delete it immediately. A few months ago I pondered writing my own, leveraging MS's Graph API, but that apparently doesn't work for Hotmail - only corporate accounts.
The built-in client is barely tolerable to do just that. But the quirks are eventually gonna push me over the edge.

We got a new doggie (1.5 year old fox terrier mix) to keep the cat company (9 mos).
I kept them apart for 3 days, thinking I was doing the cat a favor.
Decided to finally ignore them and the cat is now chasing the dog, and the dog wants to hide on my lap.

That's pretty common.
I had a Great Dane, long ago and a cat. We had the cat first so the GD grew up with the cat.
The cat established territory very quickly and they got along famously.

We adopted a male greyhound (Bacchus) and then a female (Hera) in short order (the male needed a pack buddy). We already had a senior female cat (Canada).
Bacchus sniffed at the cat once, she walloped him across the snout, and he figured it out. Cat isn't nice; leave it alone.
Hera, on the other hand, was an agitator. Once or twice a week she had to nose at the cat. Canada always looked disgusted, like "Really? We're doing this again?" and then smacked Hera across the nose.

Calm cat is fed first to make it alpha, etc
Not sure if it will work cross breed but it is worth a shot.
Feed the dog first to unthrone the aggressive cat.

Lunchtime musings - nothing important here 
Since I started working from home (early in the Covid-19 pandemic) I rarely break for lunch. I eat while I work - usually reheating leftovers.
I am curious what others do. Do you prepare a fancy meal? Step away from work for some amount of time? Skip lunch altogether?

I work best during the day when eating light meals.
|
|
|
|

I work best when I get up very early,2AM - 4AM and work a couple of hours. I get a lot of work done.
After that I guess tired kicks in and my productivity falls off.

I don't often cook lunch: normally I make a sandwich and a coffee. Occasionally, I'll heat a hotdog in the sous vide, or heat some soup I made recently for that very purpose.
I do stop for lunch: breakfast is generally around 06:00, and I'm pretty hungry by lunchtime.

A 2 quart container of salad (no lettuce), lots of black pepper and vinegar, and a little ham and oil. Keeps the usual post lunch crash  in check.

I have a frozen lasagna ready to heat up in the microwave. Then I'll eat it at my desk.
