a.) Sending a PM: As far I remember it is, I can click somtehing like 'email' in the bottom of one of your messages.
b.) Now, I don't see this 'email widget' (most probably because of my rep?)
c.) I was member before a longer time. That time I send you PM and you answered on it. Therefore I know where to send

That's because you have it disabled in your profile: go to "My Settings", "Forums and QA" and you'll see that "Allow private email replies to my messages" is unchecked so nobody can see "email" on your posts.
Mine is checked, so you should see it on every message I post.

It's possible that's been changed: I just looked on my member page under "Privileges" and it looks like it's restricted to Protectors - it may be a GDPR thing to protect personal information like emails.

And that looks a lot like monetization, even though I don't think it's deliberate.
