Discussing COVID-19, environment, politics, and the like can trigger emotions, especially when you're hit by them.
I guess it's not unlike two developers discussing Java vs. C# or Apple vs. Microsoft or spaces vs. tabs (C#, Microsoft, spaces, everything else is wrong)

You're more aware than anyone else of what it is you may have posted and what frame of mind you might have been in when said posts were made.
I can't say I read every message in every thread, so I don't recall anything that would make me associate your name with anything particularly idiotic. But the fact that you've been made aware of..."this"...is probably all you need to remain conscious about what you're gonna post and think twice about hitting the Send button...if you had to ask, it's probably because you want to do something about it. That's more than can be said about a lot of people.

Therein lies the rub; I'm not that quite conscious, nor do I notice a shift. It's also not limited to posting in the forum, it is something that happens offline also. No idea how often, guessing once a month.

One can defend an opinion or a position in a hard way without insulting or being disrespectful.

As far as I can remember you have always been more in the group of "polemic users", involved in some big discussions.
I would say that "partially yes", I think you have become a bit harder in your rethoric. But I can't tell that there have been a concrete inflection point or what the reasons might have been, in other words I can't say "when" or "why" it got "worst".
I am not an empathic person (by far) and only reading words the biggest part of the communication (the non-verbal part) is missing, so the same message can be taken very, very differently by a person or another.

If you had crossed the line that bad or you had severely damaged the community, CP Staff would have taken meassures and you would not be here.
That said, I still think you should try to keep yourself "logical", avoiding getting so personal and follow the "standard netiquette" without insulting or fighting back that hard.

Not just mine, but a problem for CodeProject also. The site helped me once or twice to get a job. Many might mistake a user for an admin if it is bigmouthed; others' would have been put in time out if they were as rude as I was.

Was expensive, but got it as a gift.
Played it, and "free" is too expensive. I've played Shareware that's more inviting, demo's that go further.
An expensive DLC for Dutch rulers? Without additional mechanics?

That's too bad - I remember some of the older Civs as being some of the more fun out there. Ah well, I guess an end comes to every good civilization.

The older Civs didn't require you to download a DLC with your country. Compare the amount of countries in Civ1/2 against the new one.
I'm not paying for a change in variables.

Our first remote was an RCA 4 button ultrasonic type. I never remember having any issues with it, built like a tank if I recall.

Also bought my first unit - an RCA - back when the remote was wired. It was a demo model so I could afford it.
The remote was only for the physical control, like stop/start/record. Do you remember the channel knob? All of those click-stops on a single nob. Three speeds to choose from, as well. SP, LP, and SLP.
One of those things where the price of it and all relevant components (like tape) kept going down. Video tape from $15 to may a buck or so.
VHS ! No wussies BetaMax in the family.
