That there's these moments where I switch from me to "idiot". And that it happens in seconds. Given my recent behaviour I can't dismiss that, but been told I always was like that. (With "always" being >15 years, more than CP membership).

Is that true?
I wouldn't say "idiot", but I did have to tell you a couple of times that you were crossing the limits in your posts.

One can defend an opinion or a position in a hard way without insulting or being disrespectful.

I'm a bloody loudmouth on this site; it may reflect on CodeProject. If I reflect badly on the site, then I should react a lot less. CodeProject has helped me forward, and I don't want to damage it.
If people can't separate your "harshness" from the general trend of the site, it is not entirelly your fault.
On the other side, you counting to 10 before some of your answers could be a improvement.

I don't think I'm "crazy". I feel the same as I always did. I like to think I react on CP as I always did. There's a question, and you give a rational answer, with some arguments to back that up.
As far as I can remember you have always been more in the group of "polemic users", involved in some big discussions.
I would say that "partially yes", I think you have become a bit harder in your rethoric. But I can't tell that there have been a concrete inflection point or what the reasons might have been, in other words I can't say "when" or "why" it got "worst".

I am not an empathic person (by far) and only reading words the biggest part of the communication (the non-verbal part) is missing, so the same message can be taken very, very differently by a person or another.

Eddy Vluggen wrote:
is my perception that way off from reality?
I don't think so, but it still is your perception so it won't be that bad for you.
Eddy Vluggen wrote:
How much damage have I done?
Difficult to say, because that is a very objective impression by the "damaged" people.
But one thing is still clear for me. You are a user and you don't represent the community. If someone fail to see that, is not your problem.

If you had crossed the line that bad or you had severely damaged the community, CP Staff would have taken meassures and you would not be here.

That said, I still think you should try to keep yourself "logical", avoiding getting so personal and follow the "standard netiquette" without insulting or fighting back that hard.

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.
