I think the basic premise is along the lines of being an accomplice because Google has been made aware that the vendor is selling counterfeit goods. The vendor fled the jurisdiction and it selling from an undisclosed location.
Note: I said basic premise, not saying Google IS an accomplice.

Firstly, is it only Google, or are they just the biggest pockets.
Secondly, easier than picking up shop and fleeing the jurisdiction is to simply remake your website somewhat and change the domain.
If the companies criminal - wouldn't it make sense to go after them? Contempt of court and all that? That is, unless the real aim is either to test the waters for taking over the internet and/or seeing how much revenue they can extract in fines.

The case was brought by the company that manufactures the authentic items; they claimed the goods were counterfeit, went to court and proved it.
The company fled jurisdiction and set up shop elsewhere.
They asked Google to de-index the company; Google didn't, so, they addressed the matter in the courts. The courts agree and told Google to de-index in Canada, Google didn't.. appealed to the Canadian Supreme Court - ruling issued.
Google had every opportunity to de-index a company known to sell counterfeit goods and didn't.

First - Canada's reach (should) end at Canada's borders.
Secondly - with such court rulings we begin to tread in the following area:
Consider Erdogon (of Turkey) ordering Google to remove the genocide of Armenians, and have his crony court make such a ruling. How far and wide does it extend? Should it extend?
I believe they call this sort of scenario a "slippery slope".

Since the company that brought the case is based in Canada, they pursued the matter in their court system. If Google doesn't like the ruling, appeal to the World Court.

Hence, my reference to Turkey: they deny the Armenian genocide ever happened. In Turkey, you can go to prison for mentioning it. Since their court ruled it illegal, should it apply beyond their borders? Tiananmen Square never happened, either, in some places.
I have almost as much trust in the World Court as I do in the United Nations.

There's a Federal "Do Not Call" list to stop telemarketers. However, if they call from Canada, Mexico, India, &etc., they don't give a damn about the list since they don't have to.
During prohibition, Canadian booze was smuggled into the US. It only became a crime when it crossed the border. Canada didn't have prohibition just because idiots over here did.
Now, if Canada want's to lob a few Cruise Missiles at Google, it's not for me to stop them.

That is not quite accurate.
Exhibit A: laws such as FATCA, which have implications for financial organisations outside the U.S.
Exhibit B: attempts by the U.S. to force Microsoft (and others, presumably) to divulge data stored outside the U.S., without going through the courts in those countries.
I'm certain others can think of quite a few more exhibits.
The U.S. acts like a 900-pound gorilla whenever it thinks it can get away with it, but is quick to cry foul whenever another country tries the same.

basic algebra, reduce unknowns by replacing with equivalents:
first simplify the question to it's most basic mathematical form:
how_long = short
then reduce:
short = short
now all you need to do next is solve for short, and put that back into the original equation
...so simple will leave that part for y'all to do yerselves.

To begin with, for the first time ever, I made it to the bottom of the Last 24hrs "Top Experts List" - barely behind OG, himself (the barely part probably won't last).
But it doesn't end, there. By ca. 16:00 GMT (which is still mid-morning where I'm going) I'll be enjoying Island beverages on a tropical Isle without a care in the world (and open bars) until next Sunday* Indeed - I won't carry money for the duration. Even tipping is forbidden - currency is a smile.
And if that weren't enough, the hot peppers (of various mysterious sorts) are flowering and forming fruit to greet me upon my return.
* Actually, I'll need to remember to meet appointments for eating at included restaurants, going snorkeling, boozy catamaran cruises, and creating chaos and laughter amongst the staff.
