Android Studio (or IntelliJ) is a far better code editor than the VS editor. I am so much faster with it, once get used to it's specials.
The intellisense is far ahead from microsoft's intellisense, too.
Only thing that makes me crazy, is that the "+" and "-" characters do not force autocomplete, like when you want a "index++" in your code and you just type "i+"... MS editor then completes correctly, intellij doesn't.
but beside from that, as I have currently exact that situation, that I had to work for over 7 months with intellij and now I am partially back to VS, I see how creepy slow that visual studio editor is in code generation, formatting, bad intellisense...
oh, and the snippet editing/managing is far ahead too. And you have Gist support. Lightyears ahead.
