I have visited links mentioned in that search( almost all) like i mentioned JNLP could be used to replace JRE, so there would be few changes: Applet cannot be executed in browser( instead on system it will be used). and with JNLP we need Admin privilege ( not sure about this).
My actual doubt was what gtalk is using in chrome as i dont see any java popup for gtalk in chrome. it is not using jnlp for sure, then what is being used. are there some APIs in chrome which hasnt been exposed yet and gtalk is using them?

how to display image on division i have code as follows
<div style=";position:relative; height: 100px; top:4px; background-color:LightGoldenrodYellow; border:2px solid #432A23; background-image:url('C:\Users\admin\Desktop\imag\cutis.jpg')"></div>
but no image is getting displayed on division...wts going wrong please help me out of it.

You've specified a local path for the image. That will only work if you load the HTML file from a local path. When you load the file from a website, the browser will not allow you to try to load images from the client's local system.
You need to put the image in a folder on your site, and use a proper URL to reference it:
background-image:url('path/to/your/image.jpg');
You can either use a full URL: https://www.yoursite.com/path/to/your/image.jpg
Or an absolute path on your site: /path/to/your/image.jpg
Or a path relative to the file where the CSS style is declared: ../../path/to/your/image.jpg

thanks for the response but even after inserting an image to my asp.net application m not able to see image on division i did following changes in my code is that correct if not then plz tell where m doing wrong.

Sounds like you need to add background-repeat: no-repeat; to the styles.

I want to know how can I rename the file name on my host but keep the same extension.
For example:

you dont say what technology you are using in your question ...
in C# you could use
File.Copy(oldFileName, NewFileName);
File.Delete(oldFileName);
or
System.IO.File.Move(oldFileName, NewFileName)
for example

Dear Experts
I hope you can give me some tips, ideas, keywords to google. I’m definitively not a web developer and so I have a problem because I have been asked to support a web page with some specific algorithms.
A.) The specific algorithm is only available “in native Win32”, either Exe/DLL or Service (and I’m definitely not keen to change this, because of a huge part of the code is “tied to Win”)
B.) I like to support Linux and Win based Web Servers. This point I think will push me to provide my algorithm as a kind of service….Corba, I don’t know what…
What is today’s state of the art to solve something like this?
As mentioned above, keywords are ok, I’m not asking for the final solution.
Thank you very much in advance.
N.B: What I remember from the past there was something like CGI and ISAPI, but my feeling tells me both of them are obsolete and anyway do not match because I like to have “my part” only in Win.

Now I think nobody Needs to know what the algo is doing. It has a set of Input Parameters and a collection of results.
I'm asking what are the technics to solve something like this in a General way. So what my algo is doing - wheter it multiplies an Input by 2 or whatelse - is not important.

No! But most probably my english is the big Problem to explain what I'm looking for... I don't think there is a big Need of Analysis and so on.

You Richard, are the Web developer and like to use my AlgoA in one of your Projects. What is the way you like to go to use my AlgoA? Prerequirement: I only Support Windows for my AlgoA but you are tied to a Linux web Server.

I have create a web site application and it is use LAN connection. And this website will run in tablet/phone/pc. Mostly using wifi to connect,so that i want to ask how to check the wifi connection if the wifi lost signal or lost connection? For example: if connected then show img with connected else show disconnected. Please advise.

You can not directly check hardware issues from within a web page, hosted inside the browser...
You may create a kind of 'pinging' inside the your web page...
1. Run a JavaScript timer
2. From that timer call a WebMethod/WebService
3. Depending on the answer display/hide an image
With that I have to say that this is sounds me like a total waste of resources...As long as the end user does not hit the site it is irrelevant if the device connected or not. If one hits the site why there is no connection, the browser will display a proper/detailed error message...
