Last I was in the same room with an Apple product was like 25 years ago - a Mac of my brother (one of those with the standing monitor, that used by designers as an easy emulation of paper sheets...)

Swift is a very young language - I quite like it (certainly a step forward from ObjC) but there are some gaps in it that need to be patched up (although there is usually some kind of workaround). That won't happen if they sit still though.

As I remember, .NET 1.0 to 1.1 was MAJOR (and oi! no shouting in here, some of us are trying to sleep!  )
Even that Wikipedia page I linked to states that "Version 1.1 is the first major .NET Framework upgrade".
Next thing you'll be arguing that Windows 8.3 (aka 10.0) is a MAJOR version

You still don't understand Semantic Versioning[^]?
Products typically have 3 numbers: major.minor.build.
Builds are bug fixes.
Minor releases may introduce new features.
Major releases may break compatibility.
That is why going to v2.0 so quickly is significant.

Yes, but lots of products do not adhere to semantic versioning (e.g., the likes of Chrome, Firefox and Opera). It would be nice if they did IMO but they don't.
(I've no idea whether Swift does. I've not looked at it.)

To be honest, the numbering system is irrelevant. If a "minor" update includes breaking changes, then it's really a major update.

Seriously though, I don't know Swift, but I've heard good things about it.
I just really don't like Apple (apart from the iPod classic 160GB which they don't make anymore), so there's little chance I'll be using Swift anytime soon

Resistance to technology by the majority of developers means the minority of us willing to accept and learn new languages can earn more.. 
What's weird is that many developers complain of never getting to try anything new, or being stuck doing the same old thing day after day. Then when an opportunity comes up, it's "oh no, it's not C# ASP.NET MVC, it's 'not for me'"
