I rather agree that linking to a page in a language other than English isn't the done thing in the Lounge (or elsewhere on CP) but I was quite astonished by the level of anger (in both directions) over such a trivial thing!
Think some people forgot to take their morning meds!

If we're going to be so whiny over a page of text in another language, why don't they bitch and moan half as much when the link is to YouTube or some other form of video.

Hi All,
I hope you all are fine. I am looking for an anti virus for my PC. I was using free version of Avast for the past one year. It will expire in 3 days. Can anyone please suggest me a good anti virus for my Windows 7 laptop ? I don't mind even if it is paid one. I hope this is the right forum to ask this question . If not please suggest me where to post . Million thanks in advance.

I would suggest Kaspersky. It keeps getting top scores in tests in the most renowned IT-magazine in Germany (" c't "). I don't have any anti virus software on my system besides MS Security Essentials but when I'm called by friends to clean their Windows PC I'm installing the free demo of Kaspersky and until now it always got the job done.

No, sorry, I have no experience with BitDefender. All I can tell you is that in the most recent test in the c't-Magazine (which was comparing the efficiency of protection against trojans specifically) it was in the middle of the pack.

Available in India for about Rs. 1000 for a 3 PC 1 year license (for online purchase). Real protection, affordable price. Have been using it since about 2010, renewing it year on year.

Kaspersky is the best company: since decades they have only top positions at various tests and also good performance. Or Bitdefender, but Avast is also Ok. But never ever Norton, or the crappy Microsoft solutions.

Simply request a new license. There'll be a button to do so if you click on the popup. Avast is available for free, but you will have to renew the license each year. Takes about five minutes time.

yes. Avast is still free. It makes you renew the "free"-ness each year with your email address.
But it's still free. The free download button is usually grey as opposed to green.
