Available in India for about Rs. 1000 for a 3 PC 1 year license (for online purchase). Real protection, affordable price. Have been using it since about 2010, renewing it year on year.

Kaspersky is the best company: since decades they have only top positions at various tests and also good performance. Or Bitdefender, but Avast is also Ok. But never ever Norton, or the crappy Microsoft solutions.

yes. Avast is still free. It makes you renew the "free"-ness each year with your email address.

But it's still free. The free download button is usually grey as opposed to green.

All my Windowses began to work way better when I decided to avoid to install any kind of antivirus. On the new PCs it's the very first thing I remove.
I believe it's 10+ years I don't use an antivirus and my PCs work as a charm!
I only keep my firewall on...
