I wish the time display would be in your local time as per your computer. Might also be useful (as an option, probably not default) to have two times listed for posts not posted by yourself. One for the time it was posted relative to your timezone, the other relative to the posters time zone.

Does CP have an RSS syndication? I couldn't find it (I might have overlooked that). If it doesn't have one, what's the problem of creating such a syndication (i.e. latest[^] in an RSS format)? Yes, I know CP provides a corresponding web service and I use it, anyway it would be nice and useful to have an RSS too.

Yes, I have already noticed that my suggestion has been accepted within few days. I immediately added a CP's RSS feed to my RSSBandit list.

Ok, I've seen the RSS link on the CodeProject Stuff page[^]. Aynway, that red button with XML on it linking to the RSS on the main page feed would be really nice

There is a good chance that I'm missing something here. If I am, please enlighten me. If I'm not, then I'm sure this has been discussed in the past. But...
Why is it so difficult to post code on a forum devoted to programming issues? Specifically, < and > cause problems, even if inside code tags. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but < and > appear quite frequently in C++ code.
There, I feel much better now.
(I'd love to see the forum switch to vBulletin.)

What I do, since I like to use HTML, is to do ">" for greater-than and "<" for less-than. If you don't feel like going through your code and changing it, you can use Daniel Turini's Desktop Bob's HTMLizer to do it.

It's not really a matter of looking for a work-around. The real problem is that 99% of the time if someone posts a question that has anything to do with templates, any code snippets they include will be useless because they don't realize all the havoc that < and > will cause.
I just think that on a message board devoted to discussing programming issues, you should be able to copy and paste a chunk of code and have it display correctly without jumping through hoops.

If people want that, they can turn off the HTML option. But as I was saying, Desktop Bob's HTMLizer fixes the <> for you.

on my own boards, i added a [code]...[/code] tag set. anything in there is shoved through a regex that replaces all the angle brackets with HTML-friendly escapes. it certainly makes life a lot easier for my posters, with a total of 20 minutes work on my part.
i'm surprised CP doesn't do something similar

Precisely! I agree. I love the flexibility that HTML gives me. (Does anyone notice the DirectX alpha transform in my sig?)
We might have a middle ground where HTML is used, but any > < and & inside a [code] tag is parsed into > and > and &, respectively, by the page when it is displayed. Anyone who doesn't want to use this doesn't have to- they just use <pre> instead of [code].
