Decided I needed a coffee before I thought about a problem: so went to kitchen to make it.
Sat back down to let it brew, and just went back a few minutes later to fetch it.
Hadn't put the water in.
It's getting bad: I now need coffee in order to reliably make coffee... 
Help!

Could be worse, this morning I made my coffee [latte if you must know] and was rather surprised at how tasteless it was. Steamed milk - check, coffee - still in the shot glass ready to poured in.

You can try making a instant coffee with only hot water the that strange brown substance so you will be able to make real coffee. Making that wrong will mean that you just shouldn't get up from the bed at all.
