Because otherwise isn't it just the same as Windows 7? Then what's the point in releasing a "new" version? Even more importantly for Microsoft, why should users upgrade?

Unless Windows is the perfect operating system there's always room for improvement, but they need to concentrate on giving us things we need, not deviating off on some marketing department led nonsense.

Apple manage to add new (and generally useful) functionality in each major release and OSX is a highly polished product - I personally think Microsoft need to buckle down and get on with doing the same with Windows, before it's too late.
