It's nice to see Google Helpouts feature in CP. Nice work and it must be permanent this time. I'm still not convinced why we lost CodeProject WorkSpace feature.

Would it be possible to open a Messageboard about the W-language (development tools of PC-Soft).
Tools are: Windev, Windev Mobile and Webdev
PCSoft Site: www.pcsoft.com or www.windev.com
Would be great if we could use this great CodeProject Site to ask questions to the formum, post articles, etc...

There are many answers which saying that "we don't do the homeworks".
for example check this[^]
May be there are reasons for not using reporting options or comments sections for such questions which I don't know.
is this behaviour accepted? shall we start doing the same?

Giving a chance to the user to improve his way of asking questions and hence the possibility to get another type of answers without scaring him with a nuke.
Although, if the user persist and start pissing off, the hammer solution is still something to be considered.
I, personally, say that usually as comment, but... if the "question" is so clear to be from a lazy assh... then I put it as answer to remove it from the unanswered list. It is enough time waste with one person's read. I leave a postdata though, if the user edits the question and raises it another time to the active list, then I remove my answer or edit it to give another kind of solution.

It depends on the question. If someone posts an obvious assignment without showing any evidence of trying to solve it, then this is the obvious, and correct response. It still give them the opportunity to reword the question and show that they have tried to solve it for themselves.
If you do someone else's work for them, there are a couple of problems:
- The poster will likely not learn anything from it.
- They can submit the answer as their own work, and maybe gain a qualification that they don't deserve.
Would you want to work with someone who gained employment that way?

I think it is a totally legal answer...Sometime the explanation of what wrong with the question is the only answer...

Yes - that comes up a lot when you search because it's one of my "boilerplate" answers, carefully crafted to inform the OP of why he isn't getting help without being rude. I use it because otherwise the temptation is to suggest that their current attitude is going to lead to a career in fast food distribution... 
It basically gives the OP a chance to respond and say "where do I start?" or "I did - look at this" and get a dialog going. At that point we can help the user to do his own homework - which benefits him in the long and short term. Just reporting / closing the question doesn't do that - it just tells the user to "F*** off" without telling him why, or what he needs to do to get help.

Because that doesn't remove it from the unanswered list.
And since a lot of them never respond (except occasionally with abuse) there is no point in cluttering up the list with garbage.

This is just a little disingenuous. How many "I need a classroom scheduling system urgently" type questions ever turn into valid questions?
These little homilies from long standing members just encourage others to do the same and the level of pollution grows.

Probably, very few.
But all it takes is one. How much help did you need when you got started? (I know it was a long time ago for me, but it was probably closer for you so you should recall better than I do)

The ad that sits in the orange rectangle at the bottom of the pages keeps escaping.
But only when you open the original post on a thread in the Lounge (haven't checked other forums).
Once you also open up the replies to the post, it returns to its box at the bottom.
I assume it's a CSS issue with IE 9 (Yes, but that's what we're stuck with at work).

I can't see it anywhere.......
