It's got to be useful for something, and that is about it for me - apart from being a lockable cage where I can put food to cool so our Feline Flea Factory can't get it...

I do however have a huge pot of babgulyasleves what I cooked last night. It should be nicely matured now and I shall partake of a bowl in around 'as soon as it's heated' minutes.

If you share your hostel room with a bunch of German grannies that - as soon as they enter - turn down the heating, open the windows wide to let the cold in, then ask you if this is ok with you, then you put your camera that got drenched by the rough weather when snapping pictures with, of and for the California Dreamies on the only safe space to let it dry which happens to be the radiator, and then - while you are out (with said dreamies) - that guy from Berlin you already met on the island mountain weeks ago gets the last bunk in said room, closing the windows and turning up the heating to the maximum without removing previously drenched camera from the radiator so said camera gets heated up well touchability, you will find out that surprisingly, after about a week of practically not working at all, your camera starts working again, with minor issues but generally still making decent photos.
That's what you learn when travelling.

I did a similar clever once. I had adjusted my watch and not secured the winder correctly, thus rendering it non-waterproof. Then I took a shower.
The watch was placed on a small soft pad and then onto the radiator. After a few days it dried out perfectly and works well keeping good time. The standard price for a service including 'strip and clean' is £350; I think I saved a few bob there.

I once had a six disk DVD player - big bugger it were, it had a rotating platter with six DVD spaces in it and it were dead handy to change disks from the comfort of me armchair.
Then we moved in here, and guess who put it on the windowsill? Nice deep windowsills we have here, a good foot from the edge to the window itself, nice and secure, even if six inches or so or the player hung over the edge. And all was well.
Then it got cooler, and guess who turned the heating on?
And who came down in the morning to find said player looking like it was designed by the master, Dali, himself?
And had to spend ages trying to hack the molten remains apart to work out what disks he had left in it overnight?

They just announced that OPCW has received the prize. In the UK, Malala Yousafzai was widely tipped which proves you can't trust the bookies. We'll never know how they decide who gets what as the selection process is shrouded in secrecy but personally I'd have liked to see her share the prize. Both are worthy recipients.

Just a thought or opinion.
She is brave and what she did needs tremendous amount of courage which most humans are deprived of.
I was happy when she got EU prize of human rights yesterday, because Education is human rights and she was fighting for it.
But Nobel Peace prize ! IMHO and Wikipedia Nobel Peace Prize is given to who has "done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses".
What she did was not that. Again this is my opinion.
