WixEdit[^] is a free editor for WiX files. Maybe It does not have all features, but it's a great tool especially if you are new to WiX[^].

Been looking for ever for a tool that could replace our current Excle-sheet, that looks like:
Customer Service Environment Host Comment

ACME FancyService Prod server01 Uses SQL Server xyz
1000+ entries
with a simple 'filter combobox' on each column.
We use this in combination with a lot of other documents to handle support and release management for our customers.
It works 'kindof', but is a pain to maintain.
What I would need (and I imagine other SW vendors that lease/rent out their software like us) is a tool to:
* keep track of customers (Either a Company/Subsidiary combo or simply 'customer' with basic info)
* installed software (location, version etc)
* searchable
Scanned through a number of CRM/CMS sites but haven't found anything that would fit the bill. They have so many features so maybe I can't see the forest through the trees.
I know I could always write it myself, but hoping anyone here have heard of such a tool instead.
This forum is for Free Tools, but I would be grateful for any pointers to free or non free tools.

What you're looking for sounds useful, I'd like to have that for my own work.
However, as it says up top, this forum is for discussing and recommending Free tools. Not really for Does anybody know questions. A lot of people post those kinds of questions in the Lounge. Give it a shot.

Surfing the Internet I often come across some interesting tools, services, web sites and I bookmarked these pages. Yesterday I recognized that my list is run out and I was starting clean him. Not everything were good but most of them I left and categorized.
Background
Especially for Code Project and for his readers I've prepared list of 12 usefull and free tools for developers and I hope you will appreciate them. They will save your time and money. All this tools are from different categories but I hope you'll find at least one useful for you.

If you need to download a complete web to your computer you can use this software: HTTrack[^]. it is simple, it works and it can be portable...

and I guess it will work perfectly, but only if you have firefox that it is not my case, anyway thank you for giving that name, who knows if I'll fall in the Firefox community someday and then it will be great knowing that!
