Hi,
Can it be the case that you downloaded the same file more than once?
(I just tried it myself, and when i download a file once, i get points once,
but when I am downloading the same file again, I get another 2 points)

It's possible that the cause is related to that somehow. I certainly don't download the same file twice, but perhaps when I right-click the link to the file, and select "Save Link As" (Firefox 4) then two HTTP GET/HEAD requests are sent for some reason. The FlashGot Firefox add-on is also installed, and perhaps that is interfering in some way.
In any case, if you don't feel this is a problem then please disregard my post

I asked because I wanted to know, what is the reason for the problem.
The case you described is interesting, and it may be the reason for 2
requests at the same time. But I think, it is fixed already and
will be deployed to live soon. We will also take care of existing duplicate entries.

In my opinion, it is an extremely disrespectful gesture and is not in keeping with the site ethos.

But they didn't violate any rules by doing so. There's no reason to disable the account. No, I don't think it should have happened, but it's not like they voted and then taunted the OP. It could also have been a "That really sucks" kind of vote, referring to Ray's passing instead of the presence of the post itself.

I see it as breaking the 'no abusive conduct' rule at the top of the Lounge. An unlikely to be granted request, yes, but not an absurd one.

It's not "abusive conduct".
"Abusive conduct" would be as I described earlier, or 1-voting a number someone's posts because you just feel like it, or posting spam on the site. A single one vote does not qualify as "abusive conduct".

It is an all-5 post at the moment. 
Either someone changed their vote or Chris removed the down vote.
Either way, what's the big deal? The OP does not care, and nothing's affected. I did not vote and personally I think it's kinda weird that dozens of people voted that a 5. That post should not have been voted on, voting on it (whether 1 or 5) is disrespectful in my opinion. But then it's my opinion!

After i submit the solution for the first time, that answer is displaying in 50% of answer area. Its not occupying full answer area. if i refresh the page its displaying correctly.
And it will be good if you increase the answer preview box width to answer's textbox width. 
A person might be able to play without being creative, but he sure can't be creative without playing.

The stickies you have at the top of a each of the programming forums are still one of the niggles that bug me, they are inconsistent in the look and feel across each forum, with different content etc.
How about replacing these with a JQueryUi tab control, which could then be colour schemed with the rest of CP. This could be inserted into the forum template between the Title/Breadcrumb and the main Forum body, thus giving consistency across all the programming forums. One tab for HowTo Ask and the other How to Answer (The Ask being the default visible.
I just had a play to see what it would look like (using the tabs and css i use from my CPRepWatcher article), and think it looks way much better.
Any chance you could try it on your dev and see what you think?

On the search result page[^]if you mouse over the menus on the Green bar, the search box stays on top and obscures the drop-down menus.

What browser are you using? I can recreate the issue in IE7 (not 8 or 9). I haven't tested it in others, yet.

I think it would be nice to put up a User Memorials page for users that have passed away (most recently, Ray Cassick). This would be a place where the surviving relatives could post a couple of pictures and a statement, and there would be a link to the user's profile and a forum for other users to post messages.
What say you?
