It looks like the original code was
#define DESKTOP_ALL (DESKTOP_READOBJECTS | DESKTOP_CREATEWINDOW | \
DESKTOP_CREATEMENU | DESKTOP_HOOKCONTROL | \
DESKTOP_JOURNALRECORD | DESKTOP_JOURNALPLAYBACK | \
DESKTOP_ENUMERATE | DESKTOP_WRITEOBJECTS | \
DESKTOP_SWITCHDESKTOP | STANDARD_RIGHTS_REQUIRED)
and got reformatted. Putting a backslash at the end of a line makes the preprocessor join that line and the next into one big line. You usually only see this with huge macros, like your examples.

If it doesn't move and it should: WD-40. If it moves and it shouldn't: duct tape.
