Hi all

I am using vb script to open save dialog box in asp.net. This works fine in xp but it is not working in vista or windows 7 . I am using following code to execute the script

Sub savedialog()
set objDialog = CreateObject("SAFRCFileDlg.FileSave")

objDialog.FileName = "C:\Scripts\Script1.vbs"
objDialog.FileType = "VBScript Script"
intReturn = objDialog.OpenFileSaveDlg

Set objFile = objFSO.CreateTextFile(objDialog.FileName)
objFile.WriteLine Date

How i run it in windows vista or seven .

What are you trying to accomplish with this? This isn't necessary to save a file.

Please remember in the future to format any code snippets using the pre tags

A quick google indicates that SAFRCFiledlg was deprecated -

Dear Guys,

I have 3 pages in a website called UrlMapping
1. default.aspx
2. default1.aspx
3. Default2.aspx

It will open the files in IE as http://localhost/UrlMapping/Default.aspx

I want to open it if i type the url default.Urlmapping

How can i acheive this

I want to design role and user based security for my application.
Can anyone suggest me..how to design database for this? or any idea regarding this?

For this you can use ASP.NET memebership. It will do everything for you including db etc. You just need to run aspnet_regsql command to create your database.

aspnet_regiis is used to register your IIS with ASP.NET Framework version.

To create membership provider DB, you need to run aspnet_regsql command !

Thanks brij for the quick reply..
I think this article elaborates Role base authorization. I want to develop User based authorization where every user will have different access rights. for eg. suppose I have a form testform.aspx . Now some users can read, some can modify, some can delete like this.
Any suggestion for this ?

Hi,

there is a good article about this at MSDN:

To put it simple:
You have to write a COM-component (can be done with .NET) consuming the service (should be simple). Then you have to register the component at the client and invoke him using e.g. VBScript

Hi Guys,
I am new in developing web page. I have a button which after pressing refer to another page. that page include series of line which is regarding policy description. the issue is when I direct to that page I cant't scroll it to see all the content.

You problem is not clear to me. What do you mean by "Direct to page" ? You want page to automatic scroll to particular policy description ?

Button Click Event Dosen't work inside TabContainer

Hi,

I have a TabContainer on my page that has 4 TabPanel,
i've placed in each TabPanel a button with a click event,
but only in the first TabPanel the event is fired.

Note, also if i placed a button outside the TabPanel the event
isn't working.

Can someone please help me?

Solved!!!

I had a RequiredFieldValidator at the first tab
and when i pressed a button inside a diffrent tab the code-

if (!Page.IsValid)
return;

stopped the event.

To solved it i needed to give a validationGroup to the button in the first tab. D'Oh! | :doh:

CalendarExtender popup appearing when Enter key is pressed

Hello All ,

I have used a CalendarExtender in my page with textboxes. When I press enter key in another textbox, calendar's popup is appearing.

I have used defaultbutton attribute in form tag and tried keeping my button id as defalut button but this is also not working.

Please help me out in same..

You have described what is happening but where is your question?
You don't want calendar to pop up when Enter key is pressed? Or something else?

I may not be correct, but let me tell you my views on the issue.

When enter key is pressed from a TextBox, it posts back the page. This is the default behavior of a TextBox.
I somehow think this is causing the issue.

For a workaround, add the following code in the page load.

TextBox1.Attributes.Add("onkeydown", "return (event.keyCode!=13);");

TextBox1 is the id of the textbox which causes calendar pop up when enter key is pressed.

I say this again, my answer may not be correct and is just my view about the issue. I will wait to hear from people here.

Edit: changed code to suit better for OP's requirement.

But its not about one textbox, whenever enter key is hit on any the the text box present on that page, is resulting pop up to appear..

Use Ctrl+Left/Right to switch messages, Ctrl+Up/Down to switch threads, Ctrl+Shift+Left/Right to switch pages.
