In fact, they have the same size when in designer view of vs. But when I ran it using IE, the password box is shorter. I tried running it on firefox and it looks normal. It just looks odd when using controls such as a login control. I've not used password text boxes in .NET 3.x. I've also not tried password text boxes in IE 8. Till .NET 2.0 and IE 7 I've not seen any difference.
