You can use Response.TransferFile/ or directly Response.Write based on your content.

That is correct answer. But you also need to mentioned that he can't download one folder (Which he was asked ). He can Zip and download the file in the way the you have specified.

Actually Web Services are a part of Remote Procedure Calls. Web services uses Http Request/ response (SOAP based) to call a remote procedure.
Other than that you can also invoke RPC using normal Remoting.

.Net Remoting, Web Services, WCF and other technologies are, in practice, RPC technologies.

Are you sure you have installed .NET 3.5 in the production environment, means where you are publishing the website ?
also reinstall the Asp.net again to have proper permission to all the system dlls.

Why you are uploading site on FTP ? you need to host on IIS .

its work Fine in Localhost but giving error in when i uploded it into server.is there any problem with web.cofig file

first Check Your web.config file..! Custom Error mode
Then You will get the actual error..!

Hi all
I have been coding .NET for a couple of years now, and would like to expand my knowledge on the way that I do things. Someone suggested using a framework like Spring.NET. Has anybody used this framework before? Any comments, good or bad would be appreciated. I have searched for a while now and haven't come across some decent articles. Not sure on what part of Spring.NET I need to start looking at. I did post on their forums, but no replies.
I am looking for a decent validation framework. Spring.NET has a validation framework that works well across all layers. I have gone through the code and I can only find code for front end validation, no validation for business object properties. If any body wants to share knowledge here it would be appreciated.

I need to capture the response_code value of the website :
https://secure.merchantonegateway.com/api/transact.php
In the page i need to capture the response_code value.
In the page load i am using Response.Redirect('https://secure.merchantonegateway.com/api/transact.php?id=response_code');
But i am want the value of response_code in my page.
can anyone please send the code or suggest to get the value of how to get the response_code value .

Response.Redirect will not give you response_code it will only redirect page to given link.
You can use httpwebrequest and httpwebresponse class to get response_code.

I think You are using the third party for credit/debitcard values.
What is the merchant name You are using?
Depending on the third party the code changes..!
You have capture the response..!
This Is not the way of capturing the value.
You need to use Stream reader and http object response..!

If you are only bothered about the Response, dont use Redirect. Redirect actually navigates to the page, so if you use it, your own contextual response will get modified with the response.
So if you what to get the response, you need to invoke another HttpRequest to the web path.
string url = "https://secure.merchantonegateway.com/api/transact.php?id=response_code"
HttpWebRequest objRequest = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(url);
HttpWebResponse objResponse = (HttpWebResponse)objRequest.GetResponse();
using (StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(objResponse.GetResponseStream()))
{
result = sr.ReadToEnd();
sr.Close();
}
Now result will hold the Response.
I think this is what you require.

I have executed the code the if we give a valid credit card number also the result is the same. so is there any other ways . The responsecode is always 300.

I have a GridView where I can export to excel file.
In the beginning of the page where gridview is, I have the following:
<b>Bem vindo <% Response.Write(Session["nome"].ToString()); %>!</b>
Now I've tested the export funcionality again, and having the following error:
The Controls collection cannot be modified because the control contains code blocks (i.e. <% ... %>).
I googled about it, and looks like because Response.write does not allow the export encoding operation perform correctly, so I commented that line, and now its working again.
So I'm wondering, I really want to use that line. How do I do it? Is it possible?
