This is something the server should handle gracefully regardless of whether or not network packets time out. As a rule of thumb we use 45 seconds as a timeout value; when we call BeginSend we wait that long and if the the async callback hasn't been called after the timeout value then we assume the client is down and close the socket. When the server closes the socket it can then flush the buffer of data that has been queued to be sent to it.

I am going though this course for the 70-536 .net intro exam, and there is this suggested practice at the end of chapter 3
“Write a console application that processes your WindowsUpdate.log and displays the time, date, and exit code for any rows that list an exit code”
I am putting this string into input to test it out, the regular expression
should extract first the date, then the time, then the exit code, and inbetween these 3 groups it will match any number of white space or none white space characters with [\S\s*] to account for the the rest of the gobledegook in the log file.
The problem I am having is im getting is its returning just one match and not all the matches in the log file, there are some 30 odd exit codes in the log file, it seems to just extract the first date, the time from somewhere in the middle, and then the very last Exit code! I want to get every single one, The string input is testing it before I try the actual log file. The date time and exit code are in groups 1, 2, and 3.

Hi all,
Can any one advice me on how to implement webservices in Copying one database tables in to the another one?The source and destination databases have the same table structures but different data.The also run within the same network on diffrent server.
Any ideas will be much appreciated.

Just pass the data in through a webservice method and copy it into the DB.

I have identity columns that are Unique for each table will that not be a problem in kepping the relationships that exist between tables on the destanation database.
How can i copy keeping the identity keys in order between various tables.

It would run faster if you just make the webservice initiate the copy, and perform the actual data transfer within a stored procedure using linked servers.

Hello m8 i have done this as a part of my program last year in school... My Solution is to First convert all the data from the first database into XML then You can either transfer the XML file to the other Web Service, Parse the XML create the schema and insert the data in the other database. 
You have the option to also maybe encrypt the XML for security purposes. And what i think that is one of the advantages for this solutions is that XML is a standard that is read by many objects so this will make transfer easier. Hope this helps  reply if this help you and take care

Hi,
I am implementing c#.net application. Where since form last week i am facing problem with photo effects. My requirement is, i am capturing photos using web cam then captured photos can be modified like they can change the effects like (photo shop Filter options) watercolor, oil painting, comic,Soft focus, Sketch and etc.
Now i need to apply those effects to the photos can any one please suggest me how i can solve this problem.

This is a complex task, and requires a lot of work. I'd say, forget it. If you don't know how to start, your best bet is to buy a library, you're not going to be able to write this.

at first excuse me because of my poor english i have written a program for sending an image or for video conference via internet with sockets and i am using tcp protocols my problem is that when i test program on my computer it works fine but when i test it over internet with between two pcs the reciver cant recieve image correctly minwhile i am using dial up
If you're really new, why are you working on such complex things ? Either way, why did you ask twice ? And how come you didn't just search the site or google in general for the many examples that exist ?

If this is true, then this is a dumb task for you to attempt. Try learning some C# first before you worry about more complex tasks like this. Otherwise, you're doomed to failure, no matter what you do, you'll run against your lack of basic knowledge in trying to impliment it.

I am trying to insert/update/delete a field from sql server table using dataadapter in c# windows application.
Here insert and update are happening,but 'delete' is not working

Try and run the same sql statement in your DBMS as it will tell you what if anything is wrong with your statement. My guess is that you may have some dependencies in your tables, that prevent you from deleting.

But I have no dependencies for this because i am trying to delete some newly inserted userdetails data, which will create a new field in that single table only and not in any of the dependency tables.
Here by debugging the code i am getting the update command as :
"DELETE FROM UserDetails WHERE vUserName=@vUserName"
which when run directly in DBMS just replacing vUserName as 'testuser' which is the primarykey vUserName :
[ DELETE FROM UserDetails WHERE vUserName='testuser' ]
is deleting properly
But not working from code

Hello,
I am making one windows application in C#. I am using SQL Server as database.So, my question is I want to deploy the .exe file to the client with out installing sql server in clients system.
to do that what files I should supply to him with SetUp exe.?
If it is necessary to install SQL Server in client system how can i do? I want to install this exe in almost 100 systems.
As I am new to Windows Application, can anyone explain about it... or give some article links so I can understand the whole processfrom creating application to End User deployment.

You should not need to deploy any SQL engine or code to your client systems. You should have one SQL Server to which the clients connect. They just need to have the relevant connection string.
If you are deploying this as a separate database for each user I would suggest something lighter such as SQL Server Express Edition. This for the secondary reason that the Express Edition is free whereas installing a full SQL edition on 100 machines will cost you upwards of £400,000 (gbp) that is $700,000 (usd). That is the approx going rate for an academic licence installation of SQL 2008 * 100 which is the cheapest licence available.

If the computers all run their own local DB, then an Access DB may have been better from a deployment POV, or SQL Server Compact. As it stands, you may need to install SQL Server Express, configure a connection string and deploy your DB onto it.
