can any one healp me
In my custom server controls library, I would like to include an aspx page I created that to get some data from user and sage to database
I was hoping I could embed it as a resource. The property page allows me to set the build action to "Embedded Resource" and it compiles it into the .dll just fine. However, when adding the WebResource assembly attribute to the AssemblyInfo.cs file, I don't know what content-type to use. I also thought I would need to set PerformSubstitution to true.
However, after some reading, it appears that this won't work as .net will not actually parse/compile/execute the resource as a .net page.

Can you please give me content type for aspx page

Hi,
In my website when users are browsing the site through Chrome and trying to download files like text file or ppt file, it is downloaded as a .aspx file for example down.aspx(The name of my download page).For a jpg or bmp file it is downloaded as down.aspx.jpg or bmp respectively.Is there something we can do from the download code .I am using asp.net with back end as vb.net Pls help.

XmlDataSource supports XPath[^] query. Provide it a XPath query which selects the required data and specify [position() < 6] to the query. position() is a predefined function.

Hi sir,
i am using visual studio 2005 for my web application.i want to make a setup for this application.i have content files option but sir i don't have primary output option in my add project output group window.so i am unable to add dll's required by my application.
please give proper solution.

Good Day vikas
you say that you dont have Primary Output Option. On your Solution Explorer right click on your Setup Project and Click on "Add"--> Project OutPut. and select the output project. Remember that your DLLs Cannot be an Output. So to Add your DLLs right Click on your Setup Project and Click on View-->File System. and when you are there click on your "Web Application Folder" and on your right hand side you will see the Files that will be shipped with your setup , Right click anywhere in the right pane and Add-->File then locate your DLLS.

This is the main query returning username. I am now using cache instead of using above query directly.
I am using 3 tables..Comment,UserData,AuthRoleMember
I am using 3 different cache for the above 3 tables.
I want to return username .
I am filtering the record from using userid,also last condition where comment.dictationid=9 where i am passing the value that is fine no problem with that..
But How can I compare or use IN query i.e. AuthRoleMember.RoleID IN(4,3,2)

Are you caching whole data from the 3 tables? What data structure are you using for cache?

I have 2 Gridviews on an aspx page. These gridviews are populated by using a Object DataSource. How can I display information in Gridview 2 based on what the user clicked in Gridview 1?

So, you want to show the selected row of GridView 1 to GridView 2 ? If yes, On Selected Indexed change of Gridview1, Hold the selected row in GridViewRow Class and set the data source property to GridView 2.
One question, why do you want to show it on second Gridview ? Why not any other control ?

The First Thing you need to ask yourself is what is it that is unique in the row of the First Gridview. After you Find that, then you make sure that on SelectedIndexChanged Event you take the Value that is Unique to that Row and Bind the Second Grid based on that Value and you will get what you want.

I found that in ASP.net databind and SQL database, I have met often the problem:
when the file contains some special signs such as C++,and C#, then it can not be found by databound control or wrongly
displayed.
anyone can give me one hint how to deal with this?

Is it so....
I never checked this but if you are talking about data containing C++ and C# will error out, I dont think this would be a problem. Because basically every control is rendered in browser as html. And you can place any text inside InnerHTML.

Background:
I'm running an MVC app on Windows Server 2003 using Integrated Authentication. I have a page that is running into authentication problems only when it performs a large number of inserts. After a certain amount of time (~ 1-2 minutes) users are asked to enter their network username, password, and domain. This logon request appears three times, then an error page is displayed with a 401.1 error. The exact error message in the log is: 401 1 2148074248.
The user is not asked for their network password anywhere else in the application and not consistently on this page…only if processed a large inventory which means a lot of inserts. I have added “executionTimeout="3000"” in the the web.config file to prevent a previous error of “HttpException (0x80004005): Request timed out.”.

IIS settings:
IIS is set to recycle worker process at 2:00am. Session is set to 20 minutes. Web app settings are: Connection timeout 120 sec, Enable HTTP Keep_Alives checked.
Web.config:
In my web.config I have set executionTimeout="3000".
I asked my admin to have the Web Site Connection Timeout and the App Pool Shutdown Timeout bumped up (per instructions below), however, he said that did not work.

o Always set the Application Pool Recycle Physical RAM Limit to at least 64Mb (the default is 192Mb)
FYI: the simplest Classic ASP page that you can think of uses ~4Mb when a single request is being processed
o Always set the Application Pool Recycle Virtual RAM Limit to at least 128Mb (the default is 500Mb)
