hello,
need help again. why is that in my datagridview after load. it will add a new column instead it should insert combobox in datagridview.
heres what i did.
Me.gridMeasure.Columns.Insert(2, New DataGridViewComboBoxColumn())
in my datagridview
i add it programmatically, im not using the wizard.
Me.gridMeasure.DataSource = ds
Me.gridMeasure.DataMember = "tmpTable"
Me.gridMeasure.Columns(0).Width = 60
Me.gridMeasure.Columns(1).Width = 55
so i want to add a combobox in column 2 thats why i use this
Me.gridMeasure.Columns.Insert(2, New DataGridViewComboBoxColumn())
could someone give me an example on how to add combobox inside datagridview programmatically. note the combobox has different datasource.
thanks,

Hi
This is the code I have used in one of my application. Hope this will help.
''ProductName column
Dim ProductName As New DataGridViewComboBoxColumn
With ProductName
.DataPropertyName = "ProductName"
.HeaderText = "Product Name"
.Width = 200
.DataSource = DtProductMaster
.ValueMember = "prod_name"
.DisplayMember = "prod_name"
.DisplayStyle = DataGridViewComboBoxDisplayStyle.ComboBox
.ToolTipText = "Select Product Name."
End With
dgv.Columns.Add(ProductName)
Instead of dgv.Columns.Add(ProductName) you can use Insert
If it works please let me know..

Do you need a Combobox column or just one combobox?
It's not necessary to be so stupid, either, but people manage it. - Christian Graus, 2009 AD

VB6 is rubbish. There's no direct conversion path, your best bet is to rewrite, and refer to the VB6 code only for ideas on the overall logic required.

I doubt any online tutorial will be as good as book. If you're just learning for fun tho, if you don't want to write code that is good enough to sell, then I'm sure there's plenty of tutorials out there. This site is full of articles, although I would assume that most assume you know something to start with, you could try downloading some simple ones and reading through them.

It looks like the book is the best way to go. I want to learn VB and programming in VB. If you learn one language, does that means you know other language easy?
|
|
|
|
|
Yes, once you know the concepts of programming, it makes other languages easier. Knowing VB would mean you basically are 9/10 of the way to knowing C#. Languages like C++ are more work again, but you'd still have a start.

Hi.
Well, you're very lucky. I've been very busy.
I just launched four super secret web sites!
No one, I repeat, no one can know about them!
Here they are:
http://www.google.com/[^]
http://www.youtube.com/[^]
http://www.ebay.com/[^]
http://www.amazon.com/[^]
Again, these are brand new sites that no one else in the world knows about! So, keep them secret!!
Okay, so on the the last two websites, it'll cost $5 to $20 for stuff. Hey, the websites that *I* just created have to make money somehow.
*** Do a search for:
Visual Basic
Visual Basic 2008
Visual Basic 2005
For stuff that you buy, you can often get the 2005 versions super cheap!
On Amazon, there are a ton, yes a TON, of VS2005 VB books (check out the used and new links) that you can get shipped for $5! Seems no one wants the 2005 books. Heck, I'd be surprised if 1 in 10,000 people need or know about the extra 2008 features. IMHO, for the beginner/intermediate person, they'll never notice the difference between 2005 and 2008!
Also, if you have Netflix, then Netflix has DVD VB tutorials. But, if you're so broke that you can't afford a book, then what the heck are you doing with a Netflix subscription?
Once again, do not tell anyone about these brand new web sites that I just created! They are a secret!
Okay, since I'm so proud of the new websites that *I* just created, I'll shamelessly post links.
http://www.amazon.com/Visual-Basic-2005-Dummies-Sempf/dp/076457728X/[^]
Used(0.01 + $3.99 S&H)
http://www.amazon.com/Beginning-Visual-Basic-Thearon-Willis/dp/0764574019/[^]
Used(0.07 + $3.99 S&H)
http://www.amazon.com/Starting-Out-Visual-Basic-2005/dp/0321393996/[^]
Used(0.83 + $3.99 S&H)
And, many many more!
And, for free, on my brand new, just launched website called youtube.com:
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=visual+basic[^]
Last, on my brand new (less than 1 sec old!) super mega secret, no one else in the world knows about website - Google.com:
http://www.google.com/search?q=visual+basic+tutorial[^]
Yea, I should put the above in my sig.

Hi, does anyone know how to get data from multiple MSDE file? Currently I have ISA server and its log viewer could display only 10000 as a maxmimum record. I plan to develop my own tools which could generate data from MSDE file of ISA log file. I read this article[^] but they show me only the connection to a single MSDE file while ISA log file has multiple file. Does anyone know how to solve the above problem? I plan to do that in Vb 2005.
Thank in advance!!!
|
|
|
|
|
Import your ISA log file into a table inside MSDE. Repeat for each log file, into the same table. Query that table to get the data you are after.
|
|
|
|
|
You can't connect to more than one database at a time with a single connection string. You're going to have to connect to each database seperately. There's nothing stopping you from connecting to multiple databases at the same time, but each is going to have its own connection string and connection objects.

Hi,
I am using Visual Basic 6 for a project where I need to send the file using HTTPS, I am searching on google and trying to understand how it works but have certain issues.
1. Do I get the Certificate online after I send file and user name and password?
2. The server gives me the authentication after I request, sends some data like authentication key or something?
3. Do I need proxy server for the same?
Please help!
Thanks

Hi,
I am working on PDFCreator and I have made some changes in Save procedure as per my requirements. Now, I want to deploy the changes and create my own exe. How should I do the same?
thanks.
|
|
|
|
|
You'll have to contact the people who manage the project. All you would normally do is grab a copy of the project files, make you changes, compile it, debug it, and your done. Exactly how you compile the project would be spelled out in the project's documentation.

Our bank is switching us over from a modem transfer for our direct deposit information to FTP. I originally looked into PGP but after a good bit of research found that this might not be an easy automated solution, not that it has to be easy, but .NET doesn't really provide a way.
Our bank also takes SSL / TLS FTP tranfers, also known as FTPS. I've looked up help on the FtpWebRequest.EnableSsl property and it looks like as long as I set this to true in my FTP class, I've accomplished the SSL / TLS encryption I need.
This sounds way to simple. Is it this simple?
Any help is appreciated.

It could be. The only way to know if it's going to work in your particular situation is to try it.
|
|
|

I'm currently waiting for a reply from the bank to start testing. I just wanted to check if I was missing anything. Sending direct deposit data and not being secure because I forgot something in my code could come back to bite me later. Just trying to make sure all my t's are crossed.
