I think you didnt understand my requirement..I dont hv any problem wid the page postback..
My requirement is as follows:
i)There will be an admin user who will add the data for the site.
ii)Requirement is like,when admin will add the data tht time only XML file get updated.Otherwise search will done from XML file with the data present at tht time.
Basically I want to ignore the trip to the database server...

Hi,

does the query took to long? Maybe you are retrieving too many results to display?

1. Why do you convert the data into XML? XML-processing is slow and should only be used with small amounts of data.

2. You could use different approches to speed up your site (caching etc.) but for this we need to know more about the architecture/code you are using at the moment. Maybe you could go into more detail...

1.Basically whatever the solution , it should be applicable to the search the data which will be in small or huge amount..
2.My requirement is as follows:

Is your data stored within an XML file? If yes, I would suggest switching to a database, because that will be much faster, easier to use etc...

Databases are just as slow as XML. Especially for large data sets.

You can use indexing technique to make
your search fast and convinient.
For that you have to create indexes
and your searches will be on indexes only
rather than actual data which will increase the speed
of searching

The solution is to use an external indexing server as described here for instance:

see here[^] Page 11 has a nice system chart...

It will speed thinks up and make it possible to automate the data updates between the database and the data used by your AJAX servlet. Does this help?

Hello All,

i have one list box which contain more than 20,000 row so that causing very long time to load the page so i want to dispaly top 100 row at a time display in list box.

so what my requirement is there when i have down the scroll bar next 100 row is loaded.

So Can you please help me how can i dentify or any event which is fire when i am reach at bottom of scroll in list box?

Why you are not minimize the records by search criteria ? I want to mean, load those data which is required, rather than 20,000 records.

Hi There,
This is my repost.In my previous post I was not explained my problem properly.My problem is that.............

When I run my project from IIS server which is on my loacal machine then it works properly and my menu tree gets loaded properly from data base.But when I host same project on web server on net that time it runs properly but only menu tree doesn't get loaded.And in both the condition I am using same database which present on remote database server.

hi folks,
im facing a issue in changing internet explorer--> custom level security setting--> miscellaneous setting--> access data sources across the domain , i want to enable access data sourcess across the domain , im trying to get the registry key n sub key by following code , but i dont know how to get miscelleneous setting subkey values. or how to enable them ?

You know that using ASP.NET with this code will only search in the servers registry?

By the way, I think it is not intended that code should affect security settings. This is not what the user of your site wants. Maybe you should think about dropping that feature.

I need to be able to print the contents of a richtextbox, which saves in the database as html. I'm working with a rtc that is fairly limited and I can't use any third party ones for security reasons. I don't know where to even start.. Using Asp.Net 2.0 C#..

I created a custom dropdownlist. (inherit from standard dropdownlist control)
I want to add ListItem inside this control. but I don't know where I must add ListItem.
I add it in RenderContent method but I received NullRefrenceException .
