Actually the thing is . ineed dummy data bcos of i took one gridview and i declare boundfield names and i put autogenerationcolunm =False , so when i m going compile in browser the gridview not showns rest of thiing ll be appears.

I would've used an xml doc. Not because it's better than your solution, but just because it's the way I think.

Hi every body

i am trying to use mail in my form i have a form name as order form i am taking all the values from the form and i create body of the mail i add from,to,and subject and body to the mail but when i try to send the mail i got some error and i make changes in web.config file also please any one can tell me what are the exact field i have to use in web.config file i will show you what i write in config file

You need to configure this code so that it has a mail server to connect to. I didn't know you could configure this in your web config, I've just written my own code in the past, but the end result is the same. You need a mail server to send mail, and it needs to be visible to your machine for testing, and your server for running live

Hi all,

How to validate the date using JS. For ex, Im giving 02/30/1983 as input.It shows server error because Feb doesnt contain 30 days.Please help me to validate this sort of error.

You can use a Compare Validator.Please check Type and Operator Properties.
Otherwise you can use a CustomValidator.

Hello,

I have a web application hosted on local machine. Ex: http://localhost/xyz.aspx

We have login page which prompts for user id and password. Once the user is validated, enters into another page. On all other pages, the user name gets displayed.

Can we determine is there any session for the website is running or not? if we can find it, we want to stop multiple users from logging in from the same system.

Please give me any ideas on this.

You're going about it wrong. Store a list of logged in users on the application level and check it when a user tries to log in. Add a time stamp for the last access, so you can time out users who didn't explicityl log out.

Thank you all for quick response,

The website is already in production. The user name gets displayed on all the pages once the login successful.

Suppose user A logged in and USER A is getting displayed on the next page.
In another browser window user B logged in and USER B is getting displayed on the next page.

Now, if you go th browser A, and do refresh the page, then USER B will be displayed on the page. this is the issue currently we have.

How to overcome this? Please give me ideas Smile | :)

Hi Raheem,

You can try like this....

If you are validating user login against database then add one more field 'status' in ur table and update this field for successful login.
In this way if another user tries to login then you can check status field , if it is not updated allow login otherwise inform that this login is already in use.,

And dont forget to update status field when user logs out.

Note: you need to explicitly update status field in session_end event and in page unload events.

EVen this cannot be trusted, he needs to add a timeout, and store the time of each page request, so he can tell that enough time has passed to regard the user as logged out

yes you can do this. when you add database source for Gridview just select
1. Specify custom SQL statement or store procedure
2. on the next step you found a query builder button just click it and add table as as you want

in this way you can add many table according to your requirement

I tried that. But it will join the table, but it will use join statement which will do using Cross join. Using this it will repeat the values for corresponding other values. It will not solve my problem.
