Here is another block of code I was sent by a team member.

Something slightly tighter is – I don’t know if they’re writing against the old or new Model, hopefully this should work on both.

Hi Karl,
thanks for the reply. but I can not check for a particular type of control. there
are any custom controls. I have one doubt , can I track the Ctrl + X event here. I mean
I want to know whether ther the user has pressed Ctrl-X or Delete button. In
e.ItemsRemoved I get the control in both the cases.

Hello,
I am just a begginer in WPF. My query is written below . please give a solution.
I have two classes named "Student" and "Employee" both derived from a base class named "Person". I want seperate data templates for student and employee. ie. for student i wish to display only name with a text box and for emplyee i want two text boxed with name and salary. I will populate a list by setting the item source as Person objects. now when i click on the list the template corresponding to the class that is "Student" or "Employee" should be displayed in the screen. how can i do this.?

hi friend i am newbie in WPF i want to use expander control so that i have two toogle button in expander control if First one click then it should expand Down and if the second one click then it should expand right side.

You'll need to retemplate the Expander control, add a second expander button to execute the required code.

Retemplating is not hard once you understand WPF. There are plenty of examples here on Code Project for retemplating controls.

Hi all,

I want to create twolist box ,one in left side and other in right side in runtime.I wrote one code but i cant set the correct margin
can any one help me.. here is my source code..
in xaml code:

An easier way to do this is to use a Grid with two columns, both of which are the same size. Don't set any size info in your listboxes, just assign them to the appropriate grid column and let the grid take care of laying your items out.

For you WPF/Silverlight users that experience the frequent crashes of Visual Studio while editing XAML…

I indirectly came across this issue filed on Connect:

Frequent "Microsoft Visual Studio is Busy" hangs after installing VS2008 SP1[^]

I had been using the March hotfix, which diminished the frequency of crashes but didn’t eliminate them.

Turns out there’s a May hotfix:

KB963035 - VS2008 SP1 sometimes hangs irretrievably after WPF Designer[^]

Jury’s still out, but I haven’t had a crash yet in two days….I’m going to keep hammering on it with my fingers crossed…

hello,

I have put System.windows.controls Combobox in silverlight usercontrol.
which i have hosted in default.aspx.

Now i want to call javascript on button click -- to change selected index of combobox .....

I am using .net 3.5 sp1 with vs 2008

so how to change selected index of combobox from javascript code..

Please help asap.

Where did you place that button? Is it in Silverlight User Control or ASP.NET?

You shouldn't mess with that as it's set to what the operating system says it should be. That being said...

The only thing I know to suggest is to get expression blend and scrape the window class template from it, and work from that. You'll probably have to write a class that inherits Window, and add an attached property.

Like John stated - the OS handles that.

If you rip the Window template using blend, you still won't be able to change the
title bar.

If you must provide a custom title bar, you can use a Window without a title bar
and provide your own. For example, see Nish's article:

WPF tip : Using a custom title bar[^]

Note you won't get any of the visual cues provided by the OS Smile | :)

tv tuner and directShow

Does anybody have any insight on audio streaming through a tv tuner in a vb app? I'm using a directshow2005.dll. I have the video end of it working fine, but the audio does not work. Is there a way to check the graphBuilder or the assigned pins? Or does anybody have any better suggestions? Maybe an updated dll or or completely different one? I was reading some other forums and this seems to truly be a tough topic in everything before 3.5 .net framework.

Jeremiah Morril is the man for all your DirectShow rendering needs in WPF. I think his MediaKit does exactly what you want right out of the box.

Hi,

I am working on an application in which we have to retrieve the attachment files from given Gmail Id using Pop3 and save them in a folder. I worked this with yahoo mail, but now I have to do this with Gmail too. As Gmail have some security I am notable to directly connect to it directly. I came to know that using SSlconnection we can connect to Gmail. But I don't know how to do this.

If any one have any idea to solve this please reply me.
