Please can you recommend good books about Ms Office add-in and specially excel add-in useing Visual Studio tools and others, and what is the best way to start in developing Ms office add-in. Thanks.

On VB you must add the library of excell it will give you access to import every variable of excell functions, just google it on how adding it, its nit that difficult

Hi,
if you're using the VSTO you should find plenty of examples here and in MSDN. Just use e.g. "VSTO Sample" as keywords for your search. VSTO also has a template for COM Add-Ins.
Without VSTO it's a pretty complex issue.

It's always comforting to me that the people who want to write evil software, usually have no idea how to do it. Now, you may have a perfectly valid reason to write a keystroke logger, but that's not what people are going to think when you say it like that.

but almost all antiviruses are able to detect its use
so it will be impossible to use it for malicious purposes

Is it possible to show the calendar screen of a DateTimePicker control by clicking an image instead of clicking the control's downward triangle? I cannot find a property from the class for showing the calender screen. please help. Thanks.

AFAIK DateTimePicker exposes nothing about that down arrow. I can suggest either to go for a third party control or override OnPaint for the form and Paint an image on the down arrow.

My bad. I thought you need to replace the down arrow of the datetimepicker with some other image. Your requirement seems different. Although, still not clear to me.

I will try to be clearer.
When you click the DateTimePicker control, at run time, the calendar is popping-up, doesn't it?
What I needed, instead of clicking the DateTimePicker control to get this popup window, is to click on a button and to get the same screen.
My target was to put on a button an icon of calendar and when the user click the button he will get the popup screen.
I hope it was clear now.

You can always build your own control/dialog, using MonthCalendar and pop that up in response to the button click.

Ok I'm kind of confused here. I have an imagelist that begins with one image that should stay. Other images are added and removed at runtime but this is where I'm having problems. It seems to always assign the image to the one before the correct one. I tried adding +/- 1 but it didn't do anything.

I am new in using vb.net 2005  and I am having some problems  .
I'm trying to use the class "thread" in my own class "station"
But my problem is that the class "thread" is a notinheritable class.
I found some solutions, using mastinherit but I did not understand how I can use it in my class.
can any one help me  ????

Id a class is marked and not inheritable (sealed in C#) then you can't inherit form it. Your only bet would be to write a class that wraps the functionality of the class you need.

So my first question here is are you trying to just use a thread in your class or are you trying to create a new class that inherits from thread as a base. After re-reading your original question I am not quite sure.
To wrap a class all you do is create a new class that has the name you want, in this case for example 'MyThread'. Then in the constructor you create an instance of the class you wanted to inherit from. Your new class simply exposes all of the methods of the class you are wrapping, but also exposes some of the new methods or new functionality that you wanted to include.
Keep in mind that this is not true inheritance so you cannot rely on being able to use your new class as a drop in replacement for other methods that are coded to accept a thread class, but it gets you as close to what you want as you can get without being able to inherit.

Could you perhaps explain what you mean - you want to use LINQ to write a SQL clause that includes the with keyword ?

This is a simple yet strange (to me) problem.In one project I can add rows to a dataset by:
Dataset created dsWaterReadings and datatable inside it dtWater.
dsWaterReadings.dtWater.Rows.Add("value1", "value2")
In the other project
I have created the same dsWaterReadings and dtWater
Now if I type:
dsWaterReadings.dtWater it forces me to chose dtWaterDataTable and that does not have a rows property.
Using dtWaterRow yeilds even less properties. What could the difference be. All references are idential apart from System.Configuration (which I dont think is the problem)

ensure that you have the datatable adapter define in your program so it can bring forward the table you want to add rows on
for example
dim da as new da.DBdataadapter.table
dim dt as new dt.datasettable
this will ensure you can call anytable on your database
