Wow - you sure got a lot of help for someone who doesn't even bother to upvote the people who answer. It seems to me like you're one of the army of people churning out outsourced websites, with no real idea of what they are doing. Hello,

I am having a variable (of type Int32) declared in a SSIS package for which the value is passed as a parameter from the C# code when i am calling the package. I have also declared its scope as global variable for the package. There are three tasks which i am having in the package and all of them use the same variable. I have also given a default value as 0 (since it is of type int32) for the varibale.

Now when i run the package, for the first task it takes the value which is been passed as a parameter and executes the task well. But after that the variable gets reset to 0, which is the default value, and rest of the tasks execute for the value 0, which is wrong. Can anyone help me out in how to retain the value which is passed as the parameter to the variable throughout the package? Thanks in advance....

Rubbish. Every website is 'AJAX enabled', AJAX happens in the browser, using javascript.

It would be wise for you to be one of the minority of people who actually understands what AJAX is, instead of blindly using a library. That you couldn't even google to find out where the ASP.NET AJAX library is downloaded from, does not give me hope.

Very much true. People are so-much carried over by the so-called AJAX libraries that they are getting myopic and don't go a little deep into understanding what the technology that works behind it.

do the necessary settings in web.config

wrap ur controls in update panel

Changing Treviews selected item dynamically

Hi All,

I have a Treviews cotrol which loads a menu from Database. I want the selected item of the menu to be separated by other menu items in color.

I have used a:active for this, but as soon as the page is loaded again it is going in the normal font. I want that a:active's color should be continued till the user selects another link.

Can anybody help me in this reagrds, it would be great help for me.

I guess if you posted some code, we could try to work out what is wrong. If the postback changes it, I suspect it means you're not persisting which is the selected item.

Hi Christian,

Thats exactly right, I found it, the binding of the control is being called twice. So what I need now is I sould be able to maintain its selected status in postbacks. I am trying to do it as below

protected void treeId_Unload(object sender, EventArgs e)
    {        
        new TreeViewState().SaveTreeView(treeId, 
        this.GetType().ToString());
    }

It is saving the open and closing state of the menu but not saving the selected Item status.
Then I tried to set its seletedItem property as usual in .Net controls, but for TreeView that property is Read Only.

Please help me in this I would be really thankfull. Its killing all my time.

I googled for a while,i found that able to do in silver light,

Is there is any way to do without silverlight concept

Sugest any tool ?

you need live video streaming.. for that you need to open a secured channel. I think with any runtime you can do it. May be its Silverlight or Flash.

Cant show video in the browser buddy... Smile | :)

You need to download them in filesystem, which is impossible in live data. D'Oh! | :doh:

Problem with forms authentication

I am using windows XP as a development enviroment my web site is published usig IIS
i have 3 pages
Default , Login , Adduser
my authentication is "Forms"
my DB is saved in an XML File existing in the project folder which is c:\inetbub\wwwroot\MyApp
in the login form i check the user name if it is admin and it has the right password i use
"Server.transfer("Adduser.aspx")" to go to the addu user page
the page is displayed well but the main active code in this page targets to edit the xml file
while this code is initiated a windows login form appears again and i gave it all the avaialble users found on my machine but i could not pass it so i cant add or edit any new user.
by the way while my application was file based this problem was not existing
also the anonymous authintication is allowed and windows authentication too

Please some one help me with this error

i ve added the ASPNET user to securtiy for the XMl File it self & its containing folder but it is still appearing.
