my Project contains a live webcast presentation, but i had a problem with timings...it goes as described below.
From India (IST) i created a webcast which should scheduled to start at 4.00 PM but the user of the webcast was in USA and her timezone is EST... thus she is trying to join at 4.00 PM according to EST. but now i want to show uniformity of times through out the globe irrespective of timezones.
How can we achieve this task...pls suggest your ideas and solutions

I need solutions only from ASP.NET or any windows services should be run on the server?
Please help me in this task...

Well, there's only two solutions.
1 - use an IP mapping database to work out people's timezone
2 - make them tell you what their timezone is

In your Tool Bar of your VS , you will see a Section called "Ajax extension" , There is a UpdatePanel and it needs a Scriptmanager on top of it and place the Controls that's needs partial update inside the update panel. Please Google Some Articles on Ajax, Update Panel.

Well Its not exactly AJAX. AJAX is something helps out to communicate a server asynchronously using that we get the values from the server.

This is called DOM
There are 2 ways of doing this,
1. Using AJAX toolkit (that you will find many examples and its a best method to go.
2. Using RAW power of AJAX, communicate the server and get values and using DOM[^]show the value

AJAX is the only way to get values without a postback. Of course, AJAX is useless if you don't use script to use the values you get back to do something.

I just want to diffenciate AJAX and DOM. AJAX is used to communicate with server and DOM is used to change the page parts.

iam having a project where there is 5 users using in the data base.using their login name and password they can access my project.now i implemented weparts in my project.now a first user login and uses the webparts now how to show the user the same page state for the next login
iam using windows authentication where iam not usign any role or profiles etc..how to achieve webparts personalisation without these things

Hi all,
I am creating a new project from VS2008 .net framework 3.5 and when adding to source safe 2005 having problems between team members and locally is not checking in or out and several issues.
I googled a little and got 2 different updates, installed them but didn't work.
Any ideas why and how to solve it.

in our organisation we are using the same. It just works fine for us. It might be due to access rights. Check whether the access rights are provided if yes, then Uninstall and install the application and check.

access rights is to create, update or delete. If you have rights for that then you have some problem in installation.

catch the browser closing event with mozilla firefox
and do a server side database updation
|

There's a closing event, same for IE and FF, and you can try an AJAX call. No guarentees tho.

you can use like this, but the onunload and onbeforeunload will be fired whenever the browser is closed or the web page is submitted to the server. Therefore we can't differentiate between these two events. Therefore it is not advisable to handle this event.
