I do not get much development done in the mornings and so dedicate it to production, proposals, specs and answering emails. Only about midday do I really get into the swing of things and start zoning in properly. I find about 6pm I am at my peak and then taper off to about 10pm. As for the location. I like an open plan, relaxed busy office. I do not need peace and quite. I frequently am to work by 6 or 6:30 and can zone on a project straight to lunch. The afternoon is a different story; I really find it hard to zone especially as the clock gets closer to 5. Part of this is due to increased distractions that occur in the afternoon. I would probably work better if I had a door to shut. There is wishful thinking. Jason W. I am most productive from about 5:00 AM to noon. Take a nap, work out, have lunch, and hit it again from about 3:00 to 8:00 PM. But my afternoon work is primarily clean up and debugging or documentation stuff - nothing that involves original design. But my favorite time would usually be the morning, and the worst would be just after lunch. Even though I'm not use to have a nap, I always feel asleep for some time after lunch. As for the morning, I believe that my mind must work at night as it is usually on morning that I find solutions to problems I've been stuck in all day before. If I go to the office, I may not feel like working just then, and therefore I may not be as productive. I may be more prone to say, browse the new content and answer questions at CP . When I am at home, I usually only sit at the computer when I feel like working, hence I am more productive at home.
