I have uploaded data into Amazon site through my own web page. Where I am writing data into predefine Xml according to my Web page.

But right now I m trying to write that data into Predefine XSD with the help of predefine xml.

Can any buddy tell me how to write data in xsd from xml.

Like as you mentioned TemplateFied. TemplateFied can be of GridView Repeater etc.

Hello everyone,

I want to start a VB.net windows application installed on client PC from my ASP.net web application.

I have tried using shell command but no success.

Please could you give me some idea for doing the same. It's a bit urgent, please.

Any help would be of great help.

That's a real shame. How could you get yourself into a position where you need to do something urgently, and it's physically not possible to do ?

Imagine if a web page could run executables on your PC at will. We have enough security issues. An ActiveX may be able to do that ( it may not, also, I am not sure ), but ASP.NET *by definition*, cannot. What ASP.NET IS and DOES, makes that impossible.

Just Another query, even if i use VB.net as my code-behind, is it still not possible?

I searched for it and read somewhere that starting a process from Asp.net web page might open a windows application, although i haven't personally tried it.

Will be trying it.

I think you need to read a book on ASP.NET, because it's clear you don't understand it. It doesn't matter what you use, it's on the *server*. Your page is on the *client*. No VB.NET or C# code you write, runs on the client, therefore it doesn't really matter what language you use.

Tags like td, unless you created them, in which case you can add a name and a runat="server" to make them a server tag, are generated by controls like a gridview. If the gridview generated the tag, you can't really do more than examine the datasource of the grid view. If you're adding HTML and want to check it's content, then make it a server control.

1 - don't ask the same thing twice, add to your original post
2 - check the checkbox not to interpert tags, if you want to add tags to your post, otherwise, we can't see them ( I fixed that for you )

Hi Experts,

In my web form one drop downlist box is there, i fill the items like India, United states, United Kingdom, etc..my dropdown width only 35. if i select the united states. whole name not visible. i want visble whole name. right now it's not visible. i know it's possible through CSS. but i am not expert in CSS, pls suggest me any one.

You need to make your drop down box visible enough to show the whole string in the first place. I don't believe css or even js can do string measuring, although you can store a width for each control and dynamically change it. You would use js, not css, for that.

developed one asp.net project (merger) , i hv sucessfully run the project in the local host, & iwant to run the project in remote, so i creeate a virtual rectory and browse the home page it will run, after open the form i have click the add button

it will show the error message like this

"Showing a modal dialog box or form when the application is not running in UserInteractive mode is not a valid operation. Specify the ServiceNotification or DefaultDesktopOnly style to display a notification from a service application"
i am using windows xp

Edit your posts, don't post them twice.

It looks to me like you've shown server side UI, which means two things.

1 - you don't really understand ASP.NET
2 - because when you're developing, the server is also the client, you would not notice your bugs until you deploy.

ASP.NET on the server, runs C# or VB.NET code to generate html. HTML and Javascript run on the client. If you show any UI in a .NET language, it will show on the server, thus freezing the server and breaking your application.

Google is your friend, you should try using it. As for the error, your code is broken. You should do some reading on ASP.NET to try to understand it a little better, and obviously, remove all server side UI code.

Hi all,

I have to display a modal popup on the click of a link button. the link button is inside the gridview and I have to pass the Id of the dataItem bound to the selected row to the modal popup. This I had successfully achieved using codebehind. But,now I am not suppose to write any server side code for this,hence I have show the modal popup using javascript.What I have tried uptil now is,

This is working properly but the modal popup does not wait to get the user response,it just disappears immediately.I want it to wait till the user clicks any button on the modal popup,as it happens in case of other modal popups.Any idea how can I achieve this.

First : I have two asp.net pages
The first one is Default.aspx and it contain links like this:

Now ,the question is how to pass the the number of the link in the first page to the second page?

Because I want to pass the number of the link in Default.aspx to dete.aspx and put it SelectedIndex ="Here".

So when I Press on the first link "Flights Events" (Default.aspx) it should be go to the second page and open AccordionPane1 (dete.aspx)

And when I press on the link Games & fun (Default.aspx) it should open the AccordionPane2 in (dete.aspx)
