I am trying to encrypt the url by using httputility class,

response.redirect(url) then am getting error Resource not found, If any one knows plz respond me...

It's like you're really dense or something. You can't do this. you need to write a HTTP handler to rewrite your URLs. Although, in this case, I'd expect that the URL is unchanged, and the issue is that the relative path is not working.

URLEncode converts characters as follows
1. Spaces ( ) are converted to plus signs (+).
2. Non-alphanumeric characters are escaped to their hexadecimal representation.
Thus <%Response.Write(Server.URLEncode("aspxFirst.aspx")) %>
produces the following output:
aspxFirst%2Easpx
This is not an encryption.
What you do, is to generate an id for every request, and a general handler will be called for every request. Now process the page from that id and return the response from the handler.

Hi, i have 2 tables which are device / device type. I want to provide the functionality of allowing search by device type... Now with devicetypes, there are 100s of devices. when user enters notebook, 200 records come up... i want to show these on 3 pages(whch ofcourse will require paging technique), but on first page which would have 74 records, i want them arranged in 3 columns with one column filled first and then another column started eg if i have 40 values, page 1 should display as
device1 device21
device2 device22
device3 ...third row starts when first 2nd finishes...
....

my question precisely is
how do i make the table of 2 columns or 3 depending on number of values... is there anyway to increase columns at runtime or do i have to programmatically assign as if rows are greater than 20 make 2 columns if greater than 40 make 3 columns and so on ... but still how would i display it in descending order of column1,then 2 and so on ... wat control do i need to use...
Sorry, if i am being stupid..i think i don't know the control to use... plz provide a little help and then maybe i will do it...

I think I answered this already. Probably with a repeater ( so you can style it to the degree you want ), which means you're on your own for paging, too.
The alternative is to modify your data source to have 2 or 3 columns of links.

Hi,
I am reasonably new to asp.net - looking for an alternative to using frames in this situation.
I am coding the application in vb (using MS Visual Studio).
The purpose of the application I am making is not for interaction, but merely to display pages based on xml data it reads. A seperate interface will populate the xml.
Default.aspx page will read an xml doc, then choose what to display, ie:

'Outside web url ie "http://www.google.com.au/" <br />

'aspx page within this web app<br />
Case 3<br />
'Image within this web app<br />
'(Would call another aspx page, and populate an object so it knows which picture was chosen)<br />
Whichever option is selected, it should display over the full screen for the set duration - but Default.aspx needs to still run in the background (so redirecting wouldn't help).
Currently I am using frameset with a frame to populate with whichever page I want to be displaying at the time. I have noticed however that frames seem to be no longer supported or best practice.
Is there a better method for this effect, which I could code in Visual Studio?

Frames certainly are supported - and if it achieves your goal, then I'd keep using it.
The alternativce I would suggest is a single iFrame

The comment about framesets not being supported was in reference to visual studio not recognising framesets, but they do seem to work well enough.
The reason I asked regarding an alternative, is that as I am new to asp.net I'm trying to learn the 'best practice' ways of coding (most google searches on Frames come back with "Frames = do not use").
iFrames may be what I am looking for, but I found them more awkward to manipulate (particularly the height not wanting to go to 100%).
I'll probably stick with frames, unless there are opinions of another method being better,
