I want to display the username once the user logs in successfully.
iam using loginview control in the master page but how to insert the username in the logged in template of the loginview control..
everytime by default it displays the value in the logged in template instead of anonymous template..
plzz suggest some solution

Hi,
In loggin page u can do below code to assign the user name in either way:
Use label in master page:
1. Session["UserName"]="Anil"; //Set
string str =Session["UserName"].ToString(); /Get
Or
2. Context.User.Identity.Name ="Anil" // Set
string str=Context.User.Identity.Name ;//Get

with the following code iam tryin to access label control of the master page and modify it:
1. Dim mplabel As New Label
2. mplabel = CType(PreviousPage.Master.FindControl("Label1"), _
Label)
3. If Not mplabel Is Nothing Then
4. mplabel.Text = "welcome"
5. End If
but still iam gettin an nullreference exception in line 2:object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Please use below code to access the control of the master page. If it is outside the contentplace holder(Which ofcourse).

i have masterpage there i have a ajax TabContainer inside that i have 3 TabPanel, one of that have i call the aspx file and that particular aspx file calling a another usercontrol.so all the textbox controls inside that usercontrol, i want access that textbox id from master page.when i see that client id it shown as follows
ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_testusercontrol_txtName
but javascript gives error not define.
i want access that textbox value, how to do that

If you are using both the usercontrols in single page means, you can call var
doc=document.GetElementById("<%=txtbxName%>");
(Or)
doc=document.GetElementById("UserControlName_txtbxName");
if you are using different page, then you can create an object and then call.
(Or)
you can create class object and then assign the Textbox value to that object and access anywhere in your application

U can use Javascript to identify the browser and then depending upon the browser u can set the property.

Datetime picker and file upload controls are working fine in IE7.
Did you any css for those control? if yes means can you send that css code. I will check and tell.

may be just you need is to fix the float of attachment object in body of asp page.
